Oh, but what about the million or so that were in the streets this last week? Don't you think that they'll starting violent riots if we actually start enforcing the laws instead of self deporting? So, the obvious answer for any self-respecting Republican President is to appease the potentially violent invaders at the expense of the sovereign citizens of the country that elected you to office. This was tried and shown to be a worthless policy. There is no way an employer can prove that a person is illegal.

There is so much good fake ID available that it is impossible to separate illegals from legals.

The population pressure on the southern border is too great to dam up. The pressure must be relieved by providing spillways to manage the flood.

What do you do with the millions of Americans born to the illegals after you deport their parents?

Do you think that liberal judges would even allow the parents to be deported?

Its a more complex issue than many make it out to be.

If we pass laws that say nobody can hire an illegal, but you can't deport them because of the children, they now are on welfare forever.

Are people ready to pay more taxes for that?

With a border fence and some sort of a guest worker program for parents of anchor babies only, it makes more sense.
