HOW TO DERAIL HILLARY:
TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT HER

May 9, 2006 -- THE ISSUE: The possibility of Sen. Hillary Clinton's becoming the first female president.

If John Podhoretz thinks an important reason Margaret Thatcher won in England was that she resembled a "battleax," he is sadly mistaken ("Tough Enough," PostOpinion, May 7).

She won because she had a solid ideology that voters knew she believed in.

Furthermore, she was as adept as Ronald Reagan or Tony Blair in being able to explain her beliefs and what they meant for how she was going to govern.

Can you even imagine Sen. Hillary Clinton operating at that level of political discourse?

Do not worry, Podhoretz. Clinton is not going to be elected president.

She has no consistent ideology about anything, and the American people will not elect someone who doesn't.

Clinton is mostly about image, not substance.

She's the feminist icon who married a guy she thought was going places and then rode his coattails much of her life.

With 9/11, we all got to see a real leader, Rudolph Giuliani, in action.

And it's clear that it was Sen. Charles Schumer, not Clinton, who did most of the hard work in the Senate in the aftermath of 9/11.

Clinton said she would work in a bipartisan way to revive the economy of upstate New York, but, for all her positive press, she hasn't delivered much.

What has she done other than run focus groups and then grandstand in front of the cameras?

We got two for one the last election, and we will get the same again should she win.

If you want to stop Clinton, just tell the truth about her.
