Such an approach is not uncommon for Faith and Action. Most notably, the organization mobilized support for a massive Ten Commandments display at the Alabama state judicial building after a federal court ordered its removal. Faith and Action also rallied to the cause of Terri Schiavo, a comatose Florida woman who became the center of a national battle last year over the removal of her feeding tube. In both instances, the group was instrumental in organizing mass demonstrations.

Yes. His testimony in various court actions depended, not on the truth but on what he was after -- mainly revenge and money.
When he was after the malpractice money, he painted a glowing picture of Terri's progress, and how much he loved her, and how he would spend the rest of his life taking care of her, if they'd just pretty-please give him $20 million to take care of incidental expenses. The jury cut that 90% but Michael still got a lot more money than a part-time restaurant manager usually makes in a lifetime.
After he got the award, Michael warehoused Terri, cut off the therapy that the award was for and immediately bought himself a gold Acura sports car. All of his later testimony tried to paint her condition in the most negative possible terms. In the Felos years -- surprise! -- he followed Felos's scripts.
Once in a while, Michael stumbles and tells the truth on an important point.
Gradually those drift on or get hit by passing cars. Occasionally one wanders by later, but that is more rare.
Dear God. I hope and pray she will recover. I also hope she will be able to name her assailant.
This is but a small excerpt:
Certain people immediately come to our minds with the mention of the word fool. The first person I thought of was the actor, Jerry Lewis, followed by the Three Stooges, Larry, Curly, and Mo, then the Marx Brothers, Maxwell Smart, Tim Conway, and Don Knotts. It is interesting to me that none of these men fit the definition which Proverbs gives us of the fool. The fools I thought of are all rather harmless creature, basically well-intentioned and innocent. All of them evoke a certain sense of pity, mixed with amusement. Not so with the fool in the Book of Proverbs. This is but one of the reasons why the study of the fool is important.

If she doesn't get media attention, I fear greatly for her survival in that hostile territory.
The claim that the editor of the New York Times is a "centrist" is enough to dislodge one's breakfast.
It all depends on how the word, "centrist" fits in the NYT Special Lexicon. "Centrist" could mean he is in the center of all the far left commie ideology.
It would dislodge my breakfast too if I had eaten yet. But it does upset my cup of tea.
Lolol, too funny! I think they all just take turns popping up. Too many at once and the mods take notice.
I'd have speculated that the NYT is "centered" between Pol Pot and Kim Jong-il, except it's to the left of both of them.
I suspect one of them will have a throbbing head this morning, and a mouth that tastes like the Bulgarian cavalry. You know, when you have to shave your tongue before you can drink your coffee.
They have more than gone to Pot, and their stories really look Il conceived.
I haven't stumbled across the biblical meaning of the word "fool" in eons. Very good, and thanks for posting that. I was thinking about how it applies to politicians, as well as people we meet up with in life.
It would be interesting to know more about this Eileen Sullivan - and all the way from Mass.
I'd guess not -- but who knows?. Here are some flies I see in the ointment. Sullivan-Marx sounds as if she would stick to the name Sullivan-Marx, not just "Sullivan." She's in the wrong state, though she has some New Hampshire background and NH borders on Massachusetts (not much of a connection!). "Nurse practitioner" is like a junior doctor, higher than an RN; sounds as if she does have a PA practice, too. I mention it because she'd risk a lot with a political hit on Carla.
There seem to be quite a few Eileen Sullivans in MA :-) It may not be easy to pick out the rabid one.
There are a lot of people around here who are operating under the mistaken notion that conservativism and libertarianism is the same thing -- unfortunately, they always wind up on my threads.
