>> What I always find curious is that the mainstream media labels Christians as evangelicals.

They are at war with religion in general and Christianity in particular. They are at war with God and His works. They are at war with Christianity and all its works, notably Western Civilization, more notably America.

Naturally they put the worst label they can on their foes and tell as many lies as possible.

P.S. On religious questions of this sort, Ann Coulter's new book, GODLESS, is dynamite. If you haven't yet, go get it and inhale it.

Cmon, the decision went to her next of kin... Do we REALLY want to involve the feds in personal/family medical decisions like this?

Let the poor woman rest.

It is known that the abortion movement grew out of the eugenics movement and it should come as no surprise that the husband of the lawyer who litigated Roe v Wade lobbied Bill Clinton to approve RU-486, not for easy access to abortion or women's rights, but because "twenty-six million food stamp recipients is (sic) more than the economy can stand."

Makes you think.

I would like to remind you that Michael was the one who wanted the courts to kill her. Federal Courts said that was okay. Is that "involved" enough for you?

That's not an issue, thanks to the Florida courts who ordered her to be put to death. Whether her killers can get any rest is another matter.

I always liked that jive. Here we are/were defending Terri for her life and after they killed her we are supposed to be silent.

Nothing much new here. I don't think the story is very well presented, either. But it's good to see Bobby Schindler's clear sight and dedication at work.

"We should not be labeling someone with a brain injury or a person who is disabled as vegetative. It is a very dehumanizing term," [Schindler] said, adding that the only reason it is used is to allow someone to make the decision to terminate a life.

"I do not see why there is any need to diagnose people with this condition unless the purpose is to kill," he said.

Right you are, Bobby. It's a license to kill.

Terri Schiavo's family carries on fight against euthanasia

The writer mistakenly terms it an end-of-life debate, but Terri was not dying. She was healthy. The coroner gave her 10 or more years still to live. The issue that ought to concern everyone is that Terri's unalienable rights to property, liberty and life were all stripped away by order of a dishonest court. The court ordered her dead. It would not even let her have ice chips in her mouth to ease her agony.

That was the coroner's description. It's official.

Abstract of Possible axonal regrowth in late recovery from the minimally conscious state about Terry Wallis in Journal of Clinical Investigation, July 3, 2006; Dr. Nicholas D. Schiff, chief investigator. Full text of article, including actual brain scans, is available with free and open access (text or PDF).

We used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to study 2 patients with traumatic brain injury. The first patient recovered reliable expressive language after 19 years in a minimally conscious state (MCS); the second had remained in MCS for 6 years. Comparison of white matter integrity in the patients and 20 normal subjects using histograms of apparent diffusion constants and diffusion anisotropy identified widespread altered diffusivity and decreased anisotropy in the damaged white matter. These findings remained unchanged over an 18-month interval between 2 studies in the first patient. In addition, in this patient, we identified large, bilateral regions of posterior white matter with significantly increased anisotropy that reduced over 18 months. In contrast, notable increases in anisotropy within the midline cerebellar white matter in the second study correlated with marked clinical improvements in motor functions. This finding was further correlated with an increase in resting metabolism measured by PET in this subregion. Aberrant white matter structures were evident in the second patient’s DTI images but were not clinically correlated. We propose that axonal regrowth may underlie these findings and provide a biological mechanism for late recovery. Our results are discussed in the context of recent experimental studies that support this inference.

The above article was cited by a second JCI study titled Tracking the recovery of consciousness from coma. At the end of the abstract is this statement: "This case shows that old dogmas need to be oppugned [= called into question / fought against], as recovery with meaningful reduction in disability continued in this case for nearly 2 decades after extremely severe traumatic brain injury."

Iow, the "old dogmas" that need to be tossed out are that severe brain injuries will never get better. This is a case where the brain significantly healed itself long after those old dogmas said "give up."

>> As more and more such cases as Schiavo and Wallis are examined and future hopeless cases in hospital beds beat the odds and win the miracle lottery, we will increasingly look to the Terri Schiavo case with shame for the injustice it was to her family, medicine and our nation.

Someone wanted info on Gallagher v. Crist. I am re-posting it here. Please ping your Florida friends. Pinellas County should be a lock for Crist but Gallagher is doing well in Crist country.

Tom Gallagher's wife is the leader of a major Women's Prayer Network. Tom Gallagher is a devout Roman Catholic and his wife attended Notre Dame. Gallagher was in the Honor Guard at Arlington. Here's some more about Gallagher:

WHY TOM GALLAGHER?

Values

A husband and a father, Tom Gallagher is a lifelong Republican and a family man who is committed to defending the core values of our party and the mainstream values of Florida’s families.

Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who has served as a Cabinet Member, alongside Jeb Bush, for all eight years of the Bush Administration and who can be trusted to expand Jeb Bush’s legacy.

Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor with a 100% pro-life voting record.

Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who was consistent in his support of a constitutional amendment defending traditional marriage.

Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who has not accepted significant sums of money from the Gambling Industry or liberal Trial Lawyers.

Leadership: Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who has been tested.

As Insurance Commissioner in the 1990’s, Gallagher was credited for coming to the rescue of South Floridians in the wake of Hurricane Andrew. The reforms he spearheaded then were cited as models for the nation in the wake of Florida’s recent storm seasons.

As Education Commissioner from 1999-2001 Gallagher implemented Governor Bush’s A+ Plan for Education which has been responsible for incredible gains in student learning. As Florida’s Treasurer and First Chief Financial Officer from 2001-present Gallagher has served as a trusted fiscal steward of Floridians’ tax dollars, streamlining Florida’s government, advocating policies to protect Florida’s consumers, and empowering small-businessmen and women to drive Florida’s economic engine.

Vision: Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor who is communicating a clear and unambiguous vision for the Future of Florida based on conservative principles. Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor to announce comprehensive policies to expand Florida’s economy, Safeguard Florida’s communities, and Defend Mainstream Florida Values.

In addition, Tom Gallagher will announce policies to improve educational opportunities for our children and improve the availability and affordability of quality healthcare for our seniors.

CRIST IS WITH THE DEMOCRATS ON CLASS SIZE AMENDMENT. Crist's sisters are school principals. He's always with one of his sisters and I spose they are guiding him on how to vote on education.

There are people who went to St. Pete High where Crist went. They aren't going to vote for him. I know people who are friends of Judge Greer and they aren't going to vote for Crist because they don't think he could handle a rough hurricane season. It's rare for someone in the Pinellas GOP to go against the hometown boy but they are breaking w/HQs.

There are 60% undecided voters, not 20 something per cent that the Miami Herald reported.

Crist is from Pinellas and Gallagher is from South Florida, Jeb country.

I voted for Crist for Fla AG and how does he get a pass on the corruption in the Dept. of Corrections? Crosby and Clark are terminated from the DOC and are being indicted. Jeb is handling that so Crist doesn't have to articulate a position on the corruption which it was widely reported is at all levels of the Dept. of Corrections. If Crist is the chief law enforcement officer of Florida, why is there so much corruption and the feds have to step in and enforce the law?

How's that? Crist has done a poor job of enforcing Florida's laws and that is what he was charged to do. He's always there after something bad happens and the feds and Jeb step in to cover for him. If a candidate is from Pinellas County, they are suspect right there. Pinellas has a machine and this machine does what it wants -forget about constituents. Crist is part of the Pinellas machine which rivals the Daley machine in Chicago. Seriesly. We found out the hard way.

Gallagher fixes things. Crist avoids them. Lucky for Crist, Jeb covers for him all the time. Jeb steps in frequently regarding law enforcement matters when Crist should be handling them from the get go.

Jeb hasn't chosen one or the other but Tom Gallagher is a true conservative and Crist is a RINO with no plans except that he makes promises to special interests. He thinks teachers should make $100K per year. IMO, that would require a state income tax to accomplish. (his sister's suggestion?) This last paragraph is probably the one that you should spread around.

"let the poor woman rest."

That poor woman was murdered. It's unbelievable that posters don't do any research and show up now. If it was o.k. to kill Terri, why are they still here? We have our reasons which are to stop judicial and spousal state sponsored homicide.

That any freeper would be getting their news from the mainstream media who are an adjunct to the death cultists, the ACLU and sadistic, cruel spouses everywhere never ceases to amaze me.

www.judgegeorgegreer.com (Terri was robbed of her rehab funds and then she was murdered. This is coming to a state near you. The ACLU loves death, don't they?
