These clowns have probably surveilled (is that a word?) every head shop within a 20 mile radius, but have yet to see what's being preached in the local mosque. This reminds me of how the FBI spent thousands of man-hours to bust a high-price brothel in New Orleans after 9-11 instead of spending their time looking for true enemies of the state.
Maybe the morality police see Islamofascists as allies.

In a world where there is no shortage of murderers, child molesters, rapists, terrorists, and thieves, you might think the state could find better things to do than stopping this man from selling water pipes. But there's nothing more dangerous to the government than a person who decides that they don't need or want a nanny.Amen!

We had one back in the 60's in Orlando when I was just out of HS. Called the Magic Mushroom. Of course it sold all kinds of hippie stuff, besides the dreaded "paraphernalia". Incense, candles, funky clothes and jewelry.
IIRC Orlando pulled the anti paraphernalia law thing somewhere along the way, 70s or 80s, I guess. But the store kept chugging on with all the other merchandise. Anyway, it was there for a lot of years.

I live near three liquor stores. I'm not sure of the difference, other than one sells the product that gets you wasted, and the other sells a potential delivery system.

FWIW, I also live near two head shops and an endless sea of tacky motels. Ahh good ol Colfax Avenue......but get about a block away from it, at least in most parts of Lakewood, and it's as residential and non-descript as anywhere else in the country.

I'm inside the Home Depot .... YES! And then on to those aisles of neat decorative chains, soft nylon ropes, stainless steel pulleys, quick disconnects, saw horse kits, 2x4's and....
*Oh*! Ooops....'drug' paraphernalia.....

I live near three liquor stores. I'm not sure of the difference, other than one sells the product that gets you wasted, and the other sells a potential delivery system. Other differences are that what a liquor store sells can lead to fatal overdose or induce violent behavior, unlike what is consumed using what a head shop sells. (Also, the former is more addictive than the latter.)

"I'm not suggesting that blanket drug legalization take place, but this is pretty dumb."What's dumb is sending teens a mixed message by prohibiting drugs on the one hand while allowing head shops to sell drug paraphenalia on the other.
To: ChildOfThe60s
So, this guy owns a "tobacco accessories" shop and he sells scales for "jewelry", hollow cans of Alpo dog food as "safes" and C02 cartridges for making whipped cream to use as a marital aid.
Yep, when I'm looking for CO2 cartridges for making whipped cream, I head on over to the Purple Haze head tobacco accessories shop.
I think we should lock him up just for being a smarta$$.

No, Bobbie, what's DUMB is the notion that somehow government (in THIS country) has the legitimate authority to "allow" or "prohibit" the sale of any product or substance for virtually any reason. If one reads (as I know you have not) the founding documnents of this nation, you would understand that government exists only at the sufferance of the ultimate authority, We, the People. You would ALSO be aware that We, the People, CANNOT give away authority that is NOT OURS TO GIVE. Simple logic will tell you that. I can no more give government the authority to keep you from selling your bongs and hydroponics devices than I can give away the title and deed to YOUR house. Neither is mine to give. All you have to do is keep this logic in mind and it will all become abundantly clear: This miserable excuse for a human being, Welch, is about as wrong as two left shoes. So are you for advocating a continuation of all these wars on Americans.

"Could I realistically say Home Depot is now a head shop?" he asks rhetorically."
They also have all the makings of a whorehouse there.
