If alcohol merely let out our "true" natures, wouldn't that apply to good things and thoughts and tendencies, as well as bad?

But it doesn't, does it? No one really becomes "even better" when drunk, if they were good and kind when sober.

That's not true.. there are very nice drunks. You've never met someone who was drinking who was really sweet...overly nice. In fact, I dated a guy and it got to the point that (and this was really wrong) I encouraged him to drink becuase he became nicer and more affectionate.

Huh? I've met some "jolly drunks" (who are nice but somewhat cool and standoffish when sober) on occasion.
