OK. My original point is still diminished as it revolved around Ms. Cheney's attempting to remain as much as possible a private citizen. By engaging herself through books and appearances she's taken on the public figure role (with or sans activism). This is fine, or not, per each of our opinions, but it spoils my hypothesis about why Ms. Cheney is treated differently by FReepers than she would be if she was a Dim.

With that I'll bow out of the thread.

I disagree the theme of the book was not to promote or even discuss her sexual orientation but to really a journal of growing up in a political family supporting her father into adulthood.

As her sexual orientation was brought into the last campaign to ignore it would not have been the correct thing to do.
