The Candidate (Rudy Giuliani in NH)
The American Spectator ^ | 1/29/2007 | Philip Klein

Posted on 01/29/2007 1:36:27 PM PST by Dark Skies

Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.

Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.

"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

You're the one who put that little table together. I figured you must have done the homework, but I guess not.

I put the table together and it is accurate. You just have to deal with the fact that Rudy's positions are far closer to Hillarys (in fact almost identical) on most issues and in oppostion to the Republican Party Platform.

I think Rudy is gay.

I don't think Rudy is gay at all. He's had a bunch of wives, and cheats on them.

It is Rudy's liberal views, in opposition to the Republican Party Platform itself, that are divisive. You're blaming the wrong person.

He cheats, though with whom is the question.

It's time Rudy gets kicked out of the GOP. He can take McCain with him, too.

I didn't post anything, i merely asked a question. If what was stated was true, it's the candidates record, and not homophobia, right? If it's untrue, then it may be considred "homophobia" (if you accept the current somewhat-accepted PC meaning). I don't know, I was asking if it was true or not.

I have a fair (i believe) question for you. If something about a candidate is correct and factual, can it really be considered bashing? Nearly every critique I have seen of Rudy has been backed up with fact. I don't think exposing a candidates position on issues is bashing, do you?

i don't. but i have seen posting a candidate's stand characterized as bashing, and it's just ludicrous.

I think posters who spam are trashing and bashing.

Can't or won't formulate their own opinion.
