Lot’s of Irish in NY city. Not so many “Palestinians”. Exactly! Irish activists had just shamed Giuliani earlier that year at the St. Patrick's day parade for avoiding discussion of Northern Ireland issues and refusing to meet with them. (See Irish-Americans Rip Rudy; Newsday. Mar 15, 1994)
This was all about Rudy looking for headlines and popularity.
