There were several posters who routinely ganged up on and pinged the boss...like good little capos.

I've never approved of that kind of behavior, and still don't. That said, there's a certain irony in the fact that the people on the receiving end spent the previous five years relying on the same tactics. Some might say that turnabout is fair play...

I understand the feeling. When I was a newbie (had been here a month at the time), I was viciously flamed by a relative old-timer over a minor issue (choice of music at the Presidential inauguration). He bragged that there wasn't much I could do about it because of my newbie status.

Flash forward to a bit later, and what do I see but an opus from the very same...anti-social individual who flamed me. He was whining that he had gotten into an argument with a poster who had been here longer than him, and the moderators were backing the other guy. Turnabout is fair play, indeed.
