I’m usually the first person to be against ‘REVISIONIST/LEFTIST’ versions of history, but to be accurate, it isn’t any more REVISIONIST/LEFTIST than the United States gov/newspapers/media made it at the time and since. YOU are the revisionist, trying to erase a propaganda smear that has been used against NBF and the South in general for 143 years.
certain words in HISTORIOGRAPHY are TERMS OF ART, which have WELL-established/WELL-understood meanings among educated people/academics.
REVISIONIST/REVISIONISM is ONE of those "terms of art". this is TRUE whether you agree or not. for example, it matters not that you MAY choose to call a piece of furniture which has a seat, a back & 4 legs a "table" , rather than a "chair". (you MAY call a "chair", a "table", but i would suggest that your meaning might be "misunderstood" and/or you would be "laughed at" & "thought a bit odd" by your listeners.)
as a TERM OF ART, "REVISIONIST" is ALWAYS linked to the MOST extreme, LEFTIST (some would say "Marxist-Leninist"), radical, (frequently ANTI-American) lunatic fringe of northeastern/LEFT-coast academia. (the fact that you don't know that and/or choose not to agree with that FACT is meaningless to the rest of the readers here.)

nothing has changed;the same sort of liars are still LYING about Ft Pillow NOW.
(sadly for the LIARS), there are MANY available private letters/memoranda/memoirs of USA/CSA veterans & some FOREIGN, serving officer-observers, who were THERE & KNEW/wrote the TRUTH. (may i suggest that you go to the library & search for the TRUTH; those manuscripts won't be that difficult to locate at any major public/university library.)
