It is also telling how posts such as this bring out the smart asses.

Yes, it's a shame you have to read through 50 posts on FR to find 2 or 3 of value and the rest of them "fun, fun, funny" and critical. The people who put this together are amateurs, I know because I know them. And it took them over a year for them to compile the information and when they posted it BEFORE the election, nobody paid attention. And here we are. So you can criticize the amateurs all you want. But for the armchair critics, where are YOUR contributions? And where the hell were the "professionals" who were supposed to be covering stuff like this ...who, instead, rewrote history to suit their ideology.

So instead of intelligent discussion, we get a bunch of jokes about "plants" and "not enough bibliography" ... yeah, its not perfect, and wasn't intended to be ... but it's more information than you got from any place else. I'm starting to worry about FR ... lot of "lightweights" here these days that probably didn't read past the title.

It's just our people relieving the monumental pressure that's being dumped on us.

It's tough to read the national news and keep your wits about you, even when half-way sane men are in charge of the country. It's damn near impossible when you're reading stories that sound like the approach of Armageddon every hour of the day.

I've been around FR long enough now to have a pretty good feel for the mood of the "family". During GWB's two terms in office, you didn't see nearly as much goofing off on threads as you see under Commissar Obama. There was quite a bit more reasoned, intelligent discussion on the forum in that time, and I believe it was because we all felt a lot safer. There was more certainty that the ground under our feet was stable and level. Not so, today.

We're watching what appears to be a slow-motion train wreck of everything we know and hold dear to us. Most of us are consuming mass quantities of news today that is downright poisonous to the soul. There will be some regurgitation and dizziness, as a result.

There will also be strong emotional responses to it, as well, such as the Tea Parties and 9/12 groups. On the heels of that unprecedented level of citizen activism, there will be hell to pay for those who would dare to demolish our constitutional republic and our very way of life.

Our folks are shaken, and they're going to let some steam off here and there. It's only natural. But it's because they're paying attention, and have the guts to keep doing so, in spite of the horrific nature of what we're seeing.
