50% of the military love Obama, the other 50% faithfully obey orders.
When did you serve in uniform?
Its a place to consider. At least i know where they stand as to their constitution.
Yes! Yes! It Is Time for such a response.
I cheered the street demonstrations in Iran, Honduras and in Venezuela. Surely the U.S. Citizens are made of as strong a material and are as brave as those countries are.
Zelaya went when his own party turned on him. They were able to make it stick because his own party voted him out, and replaced him with a leading statesman of his own party.
It was very clearly not a coup d’etat, it was done very constitutionally with the Supreme Court and congress cooperating at every step. We could come to that but we aren’t there yet.
Will they kill AMERICANS who attempt to remove Obama?
THe reason is clear.
Because most people still believe they are better off with things the way they are now, than if they were to do something. Until enough people feel they’re backed in a corner and have no other option left, most will just try to go along, and eventually allow themselves to get backed into that corner. At which point it may be too late.
Of course.
I dunno
Actually, I think you would find that about 25% in uniform actively support the current administration for no other reason than the president is Black (identity support). About 50% don't care one way or another and really aren't informed or aware of politics & policy per se. About 25% actively dislike the current administration for various reasons (politics, policies, patriotism, and a VERY small minority of racists), but none would ever participate in a coup....that is just unthinkable and NOT an option.
So now we become a banana republic...we remove someone just because we suspect him of something?
Good grief...you just wanna skip the pesky judicial system?
This is insane.
That’s not what happened in Honduras.
EXACTLY!
What we are going through right now is nothing like what happened in Honduras.
Zelaya was openly defying both the legislative and judicial branches and was trying to rewrite the constitution on his own.
Obama has a compliant and legally elected Congress doing whatever they want. And since there is no court cases with judgments against Obama, what is being suggested here is a good old-fashioned banana republic military coup.
I repeat myself...It is insane.
I see. It wasn’t clear to me that you were saying that. I thought you were implying that Honduras was a banana republic. Now that I know what you mean I agree with you.
gnip
bttt
Why are all these ardent defenders of the Constitution so fired up about a military coup? You will never get back the Constitution you had, or anything else as fundamentally free, after legitimizing that as a response. And people who think what happened in Honduras is what is happening here either don't understand what happened in Honduras, or are simply hysterical. Or both.
