If you could do 238 wpm I’m in awe! I took typing in high school because I was smitten with a cutie (don’t even remember her name now) and typing was the only class I could sign up for that she was in as well. Never got anywhere with the girl, my knowing how to type did keep me out of the rice paddies and behind a gun-metal grey Steelcase desk with a big clunky Underwood to pound on all day. Usually could manage 50-60 wpm with few errors. (I once in the seventies chatted up a lass at a typing service across from campus while she was finishing up a term paper for me, and was stunned at how fast she was typing - she claimed over 200 wpm, and I believe her. Fingers flying!!!)

I still, looking at the BC, don’t see any reason why the person or persons typing it would have had any reason to adjust the paper in the carriage after “Kapiolani” or after “BARACK” in box 8. Indeed, the horizontal line below “Kapiolain” starts to curve down while “Kapiolani” itself above it continues straight, even if you expand it and place a straight-edge at the bottom of the serifs. This suggests to me that it was typed on a form copied from a book, scrubbed of the original data, and then filled out by someone who was taking pains to make it appear to have been typed on a flat form which appeared later to be curved because of the artiface of copying from a bound volume.

Anyway, glad to see some folks who know what the’re about are on the case.

Back up the way there's a Freeper who discusses "flattening" and then going immediately to printing versus OCRing it first, fixing errors (in spelling), maybe giving it all a new font, then "flattening" and printing.

I'm not into the process all that deep having come from the generation of line-printers, band-printers, and fixed font laser printers but I do have stuff in my home that's pretty good, pretty up to date, and I have graphic/art software on an immensely large frame that can do anything you want, so I believe ANYTHING could have happened.

None of the various errors, inadvertencies, realities, or bubbles in the resulting print image can be ruled in or out ~ either by practical experience in an office environment with baby oil all over the place, or practical experience making bad stuff look real!

Just can't be done.

I came to this realization almost 10 years ago when a fellow showed me a picture his shop had cooked up that showed the pope meeting Hillary Clinton and he has his hand on her butt.

Still, if they saved the footprint thing there may be some usable DNA on there. We have systems now that are sensitive you can take really old ~45,000 year old, DNA and trick it out.

We could see if the Obama of the footprints is the Obama of the White House.

Look for the Democrats to put that out pretty darned soon.
