I was watching Modern Family the other night and the homosexual couple had their little adopted daughter at an indoor toddler event or some such. What the hell? When I was eight I would be 4-5 miles away from home on my bike, all the time!!

Same here! My mother would tell us to go outside and play and come back before it got too dark. My friends and I would explore the woods, ride our bikes, whatever. And then came winter and we got out...the snowmobiles! Ms. Liberal Writer would have fainted if she saw us on those!

2DV - I'm with you there. During Summer vacation, the rule was, be home for Dinner.
Walked or rode my bike to school and back, no Chauffeur service like you see today. The local Elementary and Middle Schools look like the parking lot at In-and-Out Burger before and after school nowadays.
If I may, an observation on your Tagline. Obama supporters don't own Work Boots.
