Dominique Strauss-Kahn goes free without bail, but prosecutors will not drop sex assault case

A smiling Dominique Strauss-Kahn was freed with no bail Friday after a hearing where prosecutors said they would not drop attempted rape charges against the French bigwig.

The accused sexual predator, due back in court July 18, walked out of court with his biggest legal victory since his May 14 arrest for assaulting a midtown Manhattan hotel maid.

With sources saying the case was disappearing amid a series of lies by the accuser, prosecutors acknowledged their witness had "substantial credibility issues."

DSK was going to allow Greece to go under,

True...probably because he saw calamity as the road to the French Presidency, much like Obama in '08 here in the US.

DSK stinks to high heaven. I think there is NOTHING he would not do to gain power.

Strange the replacement I hear is from..........wait for it......CHICAGO??? Is this true?

The sanctimonious attitude of Hillary Clinton early in this situation stands out to me.

She's from France but was a big wig with Baker & McKenzie in Chicago.

Christine Lagarde wanted Dominique Strauss-Kahn out of the way so she could head the IMF. So she called in a BIG debt on Hillary, who paid off in a way that dumped suspicion on Sarkozy and made Lagarde's appointment look like an incidental event compared to the French presidency.

Hillary had no choice - Lagarde has over a barrel from way back in her Baker-McKenzie days. But, being Hillary, she screwed it up yet again, by making a much bigger mess of her coverup than her actual crime - this time by screwing with the politics of France.

Typical Hillary, the ham-handed oaf.

The French media was critical of him being frog-marched (no pun intended) to his arraignment. I agree. Being manacled and frog-marched mocks the concept of presumption of innocence. Whether you’re head of the IMF or a previously-convicted petty thief, we don’t need to manacle and frog-march you to an arraignment unless you’ve demonstrated a propensity to break and run.

I have heard that this frog-marching is a legacy of Mr Guiliani.

Interesting point. Well argued. Provocative stuff. I probably don’t agree with you but that’s not the point. You got me thinking. And that IS the point.

Christine Bankn, DSK’s French victim now has come out with the missing chapter in her book. It describes an almost identical attack.

Are you using a faulty speech-to-text app? According to Google, prior to your post, the World Wide Web had not heard of this Christine.

He’s a commie sleaze, but the wrong one for the Obama regime...how many bucks you want to bet he was set up so the Chicago commie granola can run the IMF? Gee, do you think he wants to control the world’s money supply? Gee do you think Soros is involved?

This scumbag has a history of sexual harrassment. Given that I believe her. I certainly have no basis in which to believe this guy.

Sorry for the typo
Should read Tristane Banon. She was a 22 year old journalist who is also the god daughter of DSK’s first wife. Really sick!

Ah yes! Tristane.

There's an interesting interview with her from 2008 with subtitles at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVd1eyFvTmk.

Starting at about 17:17, she's asked if they put pressure on her to keep quiet. She says, I saw many people who told me we know it is true, but bury the case, because politically he is the last chance that remains for the left ... And I still think he is man who is politically very valid..

Starting at about 17:54, she says, he is a man who has reached a very high position who has an Achilles heel, that is actually a heel of Priapus, which is huge. That remark put my keyboard in serious jeopardy.

Let’s look at this objectively:
1. His victim supposedly has some ‘credibility issues’,
which is the hook on which the defense will rest the largest part of ‘reasonable doubt’,and constitutes all they
will need, lacking DNA evidence , to get DSK off scot-free.
Even the prosecution has to sadly admit these issues do not help their client.DNA evidence could be inconclusive, and even if it IS conclusive could form a strong basis for her
getting a large settlement, which may be all she’s after.
2. DSK has credibility issues of his own: his ways are well-documented,and probably a few more of his victims are waiting in the wings, beyond the few we already know about.
3. Worst-case scenario for both the maid and DSK is that they’re both guilty of something, and their guilts cancel each other out, making a settlement (the terms of which will be kept quiet, and ‘undisclosed’) the likely outcome.
One can believe the maid’s story in every detail, and still be realistic enough to know that it would be counter-productive for both the maid and her lawyers to press too hard to get
“justice” and adjudication and a sentence of some kind for DSK.
All the dase proves, if DSK is guilt exactly as charged, is that DSK doesn’t screen carefully enough the women he assaults.

You said:

“...The goals were achieved. Strauss Kahn is out of contention in the French Presidential race...”

I doubt that. In my opinion it would be quite the contrary, if the innocence of DSK is going to be the output of this lawsuit.

It could turn out as an orgy of anti-american commentatorship in the French press. Espechially French people but also most other Europeans do not believe in the fairness of American justice in general. Therefore the French press will suggest the impression that DSK was kidnapped through a corrupt American Law mafia that was paid by pro-American French politicians (Sarkozy and Lagarde). Even in the rest of Europe the newspapers are already full with the American “law-debacle”...

His chance being the next French president is not that bad. His sexual relationship with this lady is for most Europeans completely irrelevant as long they had consent sex. In difference to the US sexual morality does not play any role in European election campaigns. It is rather that most Europeans prefer politicians with a eventful private life...
;)

Therefore it is sad to see the transatlantic friendship being venomed with such bullshit. DSK could be the next anti American president of France with American help. A littlebit more “savoir faire” and diplomacy in this case would have been helpful

Regards

Andreas

Couple of things to think about here and dig deeper about:

New IMF head is from Chicago.
Who wants to control the world’s money supply? Obama
Who may have set this up for the regime? Soros
Who thinks this is coincidental? Only Idiots and Fools

Marine le Pen aka Marion le Pen, is a neo-fascist, anti- Israel anti-American. She has  aligned herself with the anti-American, anti-capitalists and Statists, the closest thing to Fascism we’ve seen. She is far more dangerous than her father ever was, and a much smarter, shrewder politician.
The merger of far right nationalism and the leftist anti-capitalist, (anti-liberale),  economic agenda is called Fascism. A term the French are uncomfortable with and are afraid to use when describing MLP & her movement.
But, heck, it isn’t as if the French haven’t been comfortable with Fascism in their past. Some people never learn.
