Take names. Remember them. The behavior of certain Republicans who call themselves Tea Party conservatives makes them the most destructive posse of misguided “patriots” we’ve seen in recent memory.
If the nation defaults on its financial obligations, the blame belongs to the Tea Party Republicans who fragged their own leader, John Boehner. They had victory in their hands and couldn’t bring themselves to support his debt-ceiling plan, which, if not perfect, was more than anyone could have imagined just a few months ago. No new taxes, significant spending cuts, a temporary debt-ceiling solution with the possibility of more spending cuts down the line as well as action on their beloved balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution.
These people wouldn’t recognize a hot fudge sundae if the cherry started talking to them....

Not paying desk jockeys in the Labor Dept does not constitute a default.

Yes, but that’s old news too! The bill that the House passed that the senate said would be rejected has already been voted down in the Senate. But wait, the senate can now change it up to suit themselves, and Obama, and send it back to the House for a vote tomorrow. Why bother to write articles inventing new names to call people? It’s a joke and the joke’s on the taxpayer.

Her trip to the dark side was complete a long time ago. Looks like we have driven the correct parties into screaming, spitting fits. :) I hope we can continue to haunt these elitist dictator wannabes and make them cry - more with each election.
Even if Republicans are proposing spending cuts, it means nothing if they are amorphous, maybe 10 years down the road, cuts. We who lived through the Reagan era remember that the Democrats reneged on the deal they cut with Reagan, the one that was cited by Obama this week, in his attempt to excoriate the Tea Party Republicans for not being excited about the deal.
The Democrats in Congress at the beginning of the 80s promised $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax cuts. Well the tax cuts took effect immediately, and sparked an enormous boom in revenue. The cuts, however, never took place, and spending even increased, so that even though, at the end of the 80s revenue was 3 times higher than the beginning of Reagan's term, spending had increased even more.
This is what most worries the Tea Party representatives.
