I had a male patient the other day....who was in his 60's, ponytailed, and watching MSNBC.
He was railing against evil Pharm, evil corporations, and EVIL Repub's.
He was on a very long list of meds. I came so close to telling the dude...he should just stop taking all those meds..from those evil Pharm companies.
But I didn't....
The irony would have been lost on him....and I'm generally more polite and professional than that. Ha!!
The pony tail I could overlook but anyone in his sixties who watches MSNBC and takes it seriously is beyond help. He doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together. MSNBC is so absurd that it is impossible to do satire on it. There was more reality by far in “The Dukes of Hazzard” than anywhere on MSNBC.
I’ve been through Chemo twice in the last six years.
I tell anyone who cares that I LOVE BIG PHARMA.
For those who spend their time attacking Evil Corporations, you only have to ask them one simple question. Which entity can you CHOOSE not to deal with, a Corporation or the United States Government?
When they argue the point, tell them to stop buying Gasoline or stop paying Taxes so they see who comes to their door to rectify the situation.
I used to own a coffee shop. I had a grouchy old lefty customer who would come hobbling into the store every week. He would rail on the drug companies and health insurance in between talking about all the meds he was on.
The sob wouldn’t be as old as he was without big pharm, the health insurance companies and the medical profession.
I knew I was going out of business, so I didn’t mind battling it out with him a little over the last few months. It really agitated him, but he kept coming back.
I think that is the problem. We are too polite and professional to throw the truth in their faces.
