Well I do like that he admits that “we” failed Trayvon, because it’s true — liberals like him did fail Trayvon.
They created the cultural and communal milieu that would enable his casual thuggishness to be completely unremarkable, even normal — based upon accounts of his basic temperament by his friends and neighbors, it’s reasonable to suppose that if Trayvon had been raised by better people in a better neighborhood, he would have been entirely respectable.
They also created the tolerance of savagery and criminality and lack of predictable harsh consequences which made gated communities and community watches necessary.
They also created the broader distortion of opportunity and incentive that would lead to a George Zimmerman being at such loose ends that a self-appointed armed one-man community watch would seem like a good idea. A well-trained and -experienced security officer, to say the least of a cop, would not have ended up in a physical confrontation with Trayvon, to say the least of having shot him dead. (In Florida, pretty much all you do for a living in those jobs is to manage confrontation with white tweakers and bikers and thuggish-acting black and hispanic youths, and shooting them is considered in pretty bad form.)

Every city east of the Mississippi, with the exception of the very most upper mid west, is a “Chocolate City”. They are very concentrated.
The most disturbing thing to me in Mr. Skolnik’s article is that not once was there a suggestion or expression of hope that the truth of what really happened between Mr. Martin and Mr. Zimmerman be revealed.
Not once was there the idea of allowing the evidence to take us where it will in determining Mr. Zimmerman’s guilt or innocence.
No, Mr. Skolnik has already determined what the truth is - Mr. Zimmerman murdered Trayvon. Mr. Skolnik has already condemned Mr. Zimmerman without regard to the evidence - which hasn’t even been presented yet.
Mr. Skolnik has been willingly taken for a ride by the media from day one. He and nearly the entire black population of our country have been played the fools by the media from the beginning. The template has been set - Zimmerman is: white, hostile, racist, a wanabe cop, trigger-happy, AND murderer.
When the verdict has already been decided without regard to any evidence presented in a court of law, when the community where the “crime” happened and a nation is threatened with violence if the predetermined verdict is not reached by that same court of law, then all we have is vigilante “justice” in the worst sense of the word. Worse still, it’s really moral and judicial anarchy.
If anything, the community and the judicial system of Sanford, Florida failed the TRUTH and Mr. Zimmerman long ago because they allowed themselves to be pressured by an agenda driven media and “civil rights” groups into making decisions at the expense of Mr. Zimmerman.
No matter if the evidence supports Mr. Zimmerman’s innocence and he is acquitted - his life is forever changed. He will NEVER be free from injury or death because of the irresponsibility of the major media and the radical civil rights groups.
And Mr. Skolnik and others of his same mind-set will be completely at ease and will fully justify those who will riot in the streets if their predetermined verdict of Zimmerman’s guilt is not proclaimed.
I don’t know if Mr. Zimmerman is guilty or innocent. He may be guilty as sin. He may be completely innocent. My hope is that somehow the truth be overwhelmingly revealed whether it’s guilt or innocence. Either way, our nation has lost its soul and sanity because it appears that the truth as to what really happened is irrelevant to the media or the people they have inflamed with a blind passion for - what? Truth? Justice?
I think the media’s agenda in this story has always been gun-control, but if they can get a great story of white against black with rioting on the side - even better.
Commies always make heroes of the zeros. They always use racial demonization and division while playing the aggressor as a victim. They try to undermine justice and create hate and resentment.
