The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently announced that $2.5 million in Clean Air Act Targeted Airshed grant funds will be awarded to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to help improve air quality in southeastern Idaho's Cache Valley… to reduce air pollution caused by wood stoves, road dust and motor vehicles in the valley. said EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt “We’re pleased that Targeted Airshed grant funds will be available to help support the community's ability to take action on air quality issues and develop meaningful local solutions.”

My guess is...this grant was already well through the EPA pipeline, "spent money", if you will, and it might as well be directed to Cache Valley as anywhere else.

At least, I hope this didn't just come through as a new expenditure/grant under the new administration.

Only two ways to reduce air pollution caused by wood smoke; put a big fan on a nearby mountain to blow the smoke into the next county or regulate wood stoves so much that they are almost ineffective in freezing temperatures. Which do you think will happen?
