Sounds like string hypothesis again. “We need imaginary numbers to describe our undetectable world”.

So reality is imaginary.
As we always subjected, we all all actors on the stage …of someone’s dream.

Imaginary numbers are necessary to accurately describe reality
We'll need imaginary numbers to describe funding for Build Back Broke and to calculate Omnicron deaths.

Electrical engineers use imaginary numbers in circuit descriptions. They use the symbol “j” instead of “i”, which is the choice of mathematicians. I believe the imaginary numbers come about from Fourier Transforms describing response from sinusoidal inputs.

I've had a long fascination with imaginary numbers. They make mathematics complete. You don't need to invent some other number to get the square root of i or even i^i ( which has an infinate number of irrational totally real numbers !) .
If you have total internal reflection from a beam of light inside a glass block , if you bring another glass block next to the first the imaginary equation actually predicts the weird way light crosses the gap as you bring the glass blocks closer to each other.

“imaginary” is just a word. This set of numbers is as “real” as the rest of mathematics.
imho.

Imaginary numbers are what you get when you take the square root of a negative number...I do this daily with the bank account. The experts can call me.

The ancient Greeks were scandalized by the existence of numbers that couldn’t be written as the ratio of two whole numbers, and labelled them “irrational” numbers. Pythagoras is said to have sentenced the discoverer to death.
Even zero was overlooked for the longest time... What? A number that has no value?? Preposterous!
Didn’t realize people were still resisting imaginary numbers. Holy cow, they were only discovered several centuries ago!

Maybe quantum mechanics isn’t correct. Whose that guy with a razor?
