So the officers thought this was legal behavior. Incredible.
My son is an officer and has told me many times people will fight when cuffed, even use tactics to try and disarm you. When he’s been in fights and deploys his taser on direct contact it’s usually where he can get access to the suspect that is fighting. If it is a big furball of three of four officers where you land in the brawl is where you deploy the taser.
That being said intentionally doing what these guys are said to have done is wrong. You have a lot of good officers and some bad ones in the mix. In his department alone they have one bad officer whose been caught stealing from the station coke/water storage area, had numerous civil rights violations and department policy violations, all given to the chief, city attorney and mayor with numerous officers giving sworn affidavits to the abuses and they cover it up. So its not always the officers covering up police abuses, sometimes it’s the elected and administrative side.
