Biden tells Saudi Arabia there will be 'CONSEQUENCES' for 'what they've done with Russia' - and insists his MBS meeting was NOT about oil

Joe Biden said Saudi Arabia will face 'consequences' after the Riyadh-led OPEC+ alliance moved to cut oil production.

In response, Democratic lawmakers are now calling for a freeze on the U.S. cooperating with the Saudis.

Biden suggested he would take action soon, as aides announced that the administration is reevaluating its relationship with the kingdom in light of the oil production cut, which White House officials claim will help Russia, another OPEC+ member, pad its coffers as it continues its nearly eight-month war in Ukraine.

'There´s going to be some consequences for what they've done with Russia,' Biden said in a CNN interview aired Tuesday evening.

'I'm not going to get into what I'd consider and what I have in mind,' he added. 'But there will be - there will be consequences.'

The president said he will consult with Congress on steps forward, but stopped short of endorsing Democratic lawmakers' call to halt weapons sales to Saudi Arabia.

Biden also told CNN host Jake Tapper that his trip to Saudi Arabia and meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was not about oil.

'Let's get straight why I went,' Biden said. 'I didn't go to went about oil. I went about making sure that we made sure that we weren't going to walk away from the Middle East and what was going on.'

Biden’s so absent, that he’s doing too much to appease the crazy fringes of his Party. It’s a big mistake to bear down on the Saudis like that. They were straining for as much capacity as they could get, then oil went down. So they adjusted production down a little.

Biden should follow Trump on oil production and allow the companies here to produce and refine more.

None of these "consequences" include freeing America's frackers and oil companies for extracting our own energy from under our own soil however.

Nope, not those consequences.

These guys continue to posture and act as if they have all the cards, when in fact Biden gave away half the deck his first weeks in office. They seem not to notice that Saudi, India, a whole passel of smaller countries, are moving independently of anything Washington says or does. Much of it involves getting down to business with China, Iran, and yes Russia still. Huffing and puffing about vague and unconvincing threats of “consequences” carries no weight.

The famous BRICS bloc is the foundation for a whole global operation in which the US plays no diplomatic part. We are destined to be just another customer, perhaps a profitable one, but we have given up the leadership role this puppet president still tries vainly to enact.

If I were the Saudis, I would cut more of it exclusively to the USA and offer that cut to the UK...or Italy, Hungary, etc.

Lets see how well his blowing up of that Gas Line works out then.

“The famous BRICS bloc is the foundation for a whole global operation”

Are the Saudis involved in that?

There goes Joe Biden with his threats. Remember what he said in January and February about the Nord stream 2 pipeline.

‘There´s going to be some consequences for what they’ve done with Russia,’ Biden said in a CNN interview aired Tuesday evening.

‘I’m not going to get into what I’d consider and what I have in mind,’ he added. ‘But there will be - there will be consequences.’
