A woman has divided the internet after sharing a theory on why men get married, saying it’s less about love and more about timing.
The woman, who goes by @taytalksspod on TikTok, explained that she had once heard a theory that men marry the person they are dating when they’re ready to settle down, rather than marrying for love – and, ever since, she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about it.
“I was scrolling through TikTok one day, as we all do, and I came across this photographer,” Tay said, adding that the woman had worked at a lot of weddings.

And what's the real reason that women decide to get married?
Regards,
rather than marrying for love
I think I see the problem.......................
I have never looked through TikTok at all. It is interesting to me that these kids believe that everyone else does the same things that they do. A little egocentric maybe?
To make a mans live miserable till the day he dies.
“I was scrolling through TikTok one day, as we all do”
Speak for yourself. If it wasn’t for the insane liberals expressing their emotional diarrheas that gets reported on some of the sites I frequent I would not even know what tiktok is.
As for why men get married or don’t get married... NTSA
Everyone knows the real reason. It’s for food and sex. That’s why a woman who knows how to cook is much more appealing than a woman who can’t cook.
During our grandparents time, your choice of mates was pretty much limited to who lived in your near vicinity. And if you didn’t grab someone “good enough” in time, you were going to be out of luck. So basically that’s how it worked, you found someone ‘good enough’ and you made it work.
It’s a much different world today.
(Amplified version) 8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows, [that as a practical matter] it is good if they remain [single and entirely devoted to the Lord] as I am. 9 But if they do not have [sufficient] self-control, they should marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
My Paternal Grandparents “had” to get married. My Grandmother was 3 months pregnant with my Uncle when they married.
Godless idiocy written in our major publications.
I visit an old friend every year or so.
One time he told me he got married because his girlfriend secretly skipped birth control pills without consulting him and got pregnant
Men and women both get married for the same reasons, but from different perspectives:
Men marry women thinking that they won’t change, but they do.
Women marry men thinking that they will change, but they don’t............................
WOW. The secrets of human relationships have been cracked by a 20 year old unmarried tiktok commenter.
On the flip side, there is a lot of talk of Hypergamy as key to the behavior of many women. Always look for the better man. Taller, fitter, higher income. Drop the guy you are with (even if it’s your husband) and trade up to some other guy who can give you more of the stuff that you deserve.
Cold and heartless? Many women seem pretty unapologetic about it.
But compare that with the gist of this article — when a guy wants to settle down, he grabs the woman in front of him and says “You’ll do.” (Of course not all guys do this, just as not all women pursue hypergamy.)
But note that the article seems to criticize an attitude of “You’ll do”. That’s bad. Those bad men. Settling for whomever is in front of them. Awful, awful. I guess they should be more like women: never satisfied with what is in front of them and always trying to cast it aside in hope of getting something better. Yeah. Much healthier approach. Uh huh.
"And now I'm praying for the end of time."
I’m always shocked at women who are married & don’t cook. I love cooking for my husband. And myself!
Exactly. Does she mean “sex” or “friendship?”
Is that you Al Bundy?
