I’ve had that stuff before. They said it was vodka, but a former roommate suspected it was grain. I downed two large glasses of it and was on a third when the drunkenness hit me like a train. I ended up barfing in my dorm room, but somehow had the presence of mind to clean it up.
That was one bad night.

Today in some elite Dem areas of the country they have something similar called ‘purple drank’ which is used instead of going to college.
Halcyon days. Next morning you felt like someone had hit you with a tire iron to the back of your head.
That’s what we had, too. Is it just me, or do college kids seem to binge drink more than we did back in the day? It doesn’t seem like raising the age to 21 helped very much. In my mind, it has hurt more than it has helped.

Down there in North Cackalacky purple passion was known as either passion juice or Purple Jesus. Cans of differing fruit juices, Everclear, canned fruit, mixed in an ice chest cooler. A real Hawaiian Punch... drank outside by bonfires.
