They RSVPed yes so they did not get labeled as "haters" but could not attend because of unavoidable scheduling conflicts that they planed out most carefully.
Sort of like people used to do to get out of attending Nero's Poetry symposiums.
As far as I know, no one has yet faked going into labor.
I figure it is coming.
