/eyeroll.
Sometimes, people with badges have too much power.
Very very funny movie ...
I have no doubt that they also want to put license plates on the horses. Anything to keep the money flowing.
And saying that walking the horse was 'a display of true compassion'? Whatever. Was the police officer suppose to put a boot on the horse or maybe shoot the horse?
Although I would bet if he had some would stand up and cheer the brave man in the magic blue clothing.
That justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys, you got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
And we’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing
Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses
in 1984 my friend and I got pulled over for speeding on our bicycles.
the cop said he had to go 60mph to catch up with us, I said “That is so confusing what does that have to do with anything?, then he said I have you on radar doing 34 in a 25mph zone.
(this was down a huge hill with no incoming streets)
The cops are there still total assholes even if you live there.
And I know of one that got popped for DUI on a lawn tractor. I’ll see if I can find the article - it is hilarious, and I knew the guy. One of my high school buddies’ father.
He was under the mistaken belief that since you don’t need to have a license to drive a farm vehicle, and since a lawn tractor is sort of a farm vehicle, you can ride it to and from the bar after your license has already been suspended for .... DUI.
He even made a gesture at the police, indicating the they were #1 in his book. He spent the night in the city jail.
I agree. The horse will probably take him safely home.
How is it drunk with merely “an open container of alcohol”?
he was seen to have cracked open a can of something that was not Bud Light while riding through town ?
I came here for that picture… FReepers never fail!
“And I know of one that got popped for DUI on a lawn tractor.”
He probably got the idea from legendary singer and drinker George Jones. Jones wife, Shirley Ann Corley, had hidden the keys to every vehicle on the property. He tore up the house looking for keys, and then...
“There, gleaming in the glow, was that ten-horsepower rotary engine under a seat. A key glistening in the ignition. I imagine the top speed for that old mower was five miles per hour. It might have taken an hour and a half or more for me to get to the liquor store, but get there I did.”
Several years later while married to Tammy Wynette he had another mower ride.
Tammy hid all the keys from George, but George had been down that road before. Wynette woke up one night at 1 AM to find George missing. “I got into the car and drove to the nearest bar 10 miles away. When I pulled into the parking lot there sat our rider-mower right by the entrance. He’d driven that mower right down a main highway. He looked up and saw me and said, `Well, fellas, here she is now. My little wife, I told you she’d come after me.’”

Happy to oblige.
Agreed.
DWI-Driving While Intoxicated.
One technically does not “drive”
a horse.

I find it stupid that if someone is riding a bicycle they are considered to be a vehicle required to adhere to driving regulations BUT if you’re driving a vehicle and hit a bicycle then SUDDENLY THEY BECOME A PEDESTRIAN !!!
Makes no sense to Me.
“Kid Shellen’’.
There was a great great grand on one side who was evidently known to tie one on at the usual place of conviviality. Then have his horse pull the wagon and find its way home with him sleeping in the back
It’s the People’s Sewer Of Kalifornia. Pulling over drunken horses is all their cops are allowed to do.
