All are enemy would have to do is detonate a thermonuclear bomb at the current and old nuclear power facilities. This would result in a horrific amount of fall out. Just a blast at Hanford nuclear site would send millions of tons of plutonium waste into the atmosphere. The half life of plutonium 239 is like 24,100 yrs. We have created our own nuclear fall out disaster.

You misread that. 300 million PEOPLE. Nukes are perishable entities. They require regular maintenance to retain capability. I suspect parties on all sides that believe they have fully potent, operational devices are in for some disappointments. Enough will work to cause a huge S**T show. It would be best if nobody launches.

I've had 300 RADs through my gut multiple times for a full dose of 3000 RAD. Every treatment was a 4 hour vomit fest and intolerable diarrhea started at a 1200 RAD cumulative dose. My blood was tested before each treatment to decide whether I could tolerate another. It took over 18 months to return with enough stamina to walk around the block. That's down from doing 3 x 5 mile laps around Miramar Lake on inlines at a 20 minute per lap speed. It was a pretty thorough ass kicking. Getting a full body burden instead of a very focused beam through the gut would be much worse.
