Calling here from the last bastion of civilization left in Memphis: East Memphis, an easy walk from Fred Smith’s house (founder of FedEx).

There are still wealthy people here but it’s getting worse by the day.

This 15 year old was killed not far from where I grew up.

Memphis was a happy place 50 years ago.
