Then how do you expect to keep me from stealing your private property? magnum
History disagrees with you, BADJOE. I'm not aware of any society which ever existed without government, not even Margaret Mead's falsified South Sea island peoples. Even a simple "Head Man" is a government. But ... do you really believe that the United States could continue as a viable nation with only a "Head Man" and no other person or institution between him and the people? Or is it your position that we don't even need a "Head Man"?
I doubt that such a configuration would ever have worked, but now, considering that we've lost two, maybe three, generations to simplistic education and minimal standards and now have a population largely benumbed into believing that "free" television and Nike's are the ultimate heaven on earth, do you really expect them to "get along" with no external controls at all?
The anarchists suffer from the same deblitating malady as the libertarians; they believe that given the chance everyone else will come to see their wisdom and believe as they do. It's a dream, BADJOE; there will always be the man waiting around the corner to take from you what you are too weak to keep for yourself. And there's always someone stronger, just waiting for half a chance.
Anarchy is chaos. As would be a true libertarian government.
