Yeah, sure... but their intentions and a quarter get me today's Washington Times. A Losertarian HANDED the Senate seat to Johnson in SD.

LOL! Feeling your oats heh? Guess what...?
It's time to put up or shut up now, Republican partyists.
The biggest problem you "freedom-loving" libertarian-bashers now have is the problem of inventing excuses when The Party does not begin rolling back 70+ years of social programs.
The super-secret-Republican-plan-to-roll-back-socialism-by-adopting Democrat-policy phase is now over.
Stay tuned - coming up next on the The Party Agenda is a Prescription Drug for Seniors program.

OO-o-o-o-oh those bad old libertarians--They want to keep Republicans out of our bedrooms, Democrats out of our pocketbooks and BOTH OUT OF OUR CONSTITUTION!!! BWAHAHAHAHA

LOL. Gee, we're not even done with the election (LA runoff and SD recounts) and already you guys are beting up on those who you should be building bridges with. This domination of all 3 Houses (Senate, House, and WhiteHouse) might not last longer than 2 years.
"Reaching out" does not include fast jabs with fists, guys.

Welcome to the club! I have had the same fears ever since Bush won (ok, I'm a Keyes man, but Forbes would have been ok too). I've been very uncomfortable with the "new tone" concept from day 1. I hate what Bush has given the D/S party, and the fact that he's gotten nothing in return.

Dear Libertarians, We're really sorry we didn't get your .03 percent of the vote last night. We really, really missed having it.
Thanks anyway. Enjoy your obscurity.
Love,
The Republican Party

The super-secret-Republican-plan-to-roll-back-socialism-by-adopting Democrat-policy phase is now over. Stay tuned - coming up next on the The Party Agenda is a Prescription Drug for Seniors program. I am a registered Rep., but consider myself libertarian and vote for them in most races they run in. These next two years is the last chance the Republicans get to keep my vote in many races. If the Reps renew the Crime Bill/Assault Weapons Ban, its over. Prescription drug plan, and its over. I will simply not vote in a race where the choice is Rep or Dem.

We can work out our differences later No, we can work out our differences now. The GOP has the Presidency and both houses of Congress: you have two years to make enough progress on the key areas of common ground (e.g. serious and permanent tax cuts, rollbacks of various forms of government intrusion, restoration and reinforcement of Constitutional rights) to earn the votes you want.

As it says in the Liberaltarian version of the Declaration of Independence: "... that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are an early death, slavery to vice, and the pursuit of unneeded suffering."
To: WhiteGuy
The GOP has a great opportunity now to forever win back the libertarian voters. And, on the other edge of the same sword, they also have an "opportunity" to permanently alienate libertarian-leaning voters with by failing to do so. If they can't or won't grow some spines, then the only other hope is that they'll be more scared of that than they are of the 'Rats.

This needs to be shouted from coast to coast.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that Libertarians have much in common with the D/S party. Hint: CJ's doctor examines the source of that idea while wearing a rubber glove.

The first big test will be when senate votes for majority leader.
If it's Lott again, we can loook forward to another power-sharing agreement.

Your logic is faulty in that the Libertarian Party is based upon humanist moral-liberalism... Your logic is even more faulty, as you have no premises upon which to base your conclusions.
God created man with free will. He also sent his Son to LEAD, not force, people to the path of righteousness. He could have done it another way. Satan's plan was that no one would have free will and ALL would be "saved".
Libertarians believe in free will. Statists believe in forcing people to live their way, either in their personal or economic lives.
It's pretty clear to me which political philosophy is closer to God's plan, and which is closer to Satan's.

Oregon will probably get a dumb-aas-crap as our governor recount thanks to the Libertarian getting 5% of the vote,
To: wimpycat
That would make me very happy. I want to get this discussion going. The political Right needs to get together to defeat the left wing coalition that has been against us for decades.
Heck, just think about this; who was against Civil Rights in the '60's? The left. Who is called "Racist"? The Right. Who got us into Vietnam? LBJ. Who got us out? Nixon. Who was blamed for that war? The Right! I could go on and on.
I'm tired of the garbage the left throws at us, and tired of being called "Mean spritited" when we respond. I'm tired of stories about "negative campaigns" when the Right tells about someone's record, and the lack of such stories when the Left says we want to "starve children".
We are ALL under attack! Our views, our lifestyle, our religions.
We need to team up, defeat the Left; then sort out our diferences.

Good point Steve,
We will all have a front row seat for the re-defining
of the word "Leadership"

Ah yes, the "waah, that spoiler took my votes" syndrome. Slight correction: That "spoiler" didn't take the governor's votes....the governor chased those votes away. Some of these Republican Governors play conservative on abortion and then turn their backs on the rest of the base that want less taxes and less government...federal state and local. Had my state (Ohio) had a Libertarian or Constitutional party candidate on the ballot for Governor I would have voted for him since Bob Taft is a liar and a big government tax and spend type.
In 20 years it won't be a two party system. I can see four primary parties aligned on two sides...On the right will be the Republicans and Libertarians/Constitution Party and on the left will be the democrats and the greens. If the republicans want to be in power in 20 years, they will have to work with the people who are leaning to the Libertarian/ Constitution Party side instead of shunning them. Just because people only agree with you 80% of the time doesn't automatically make them your 20% enemy.
This is still many years away, but IMHO, that is how things will be.
