YOU SEE, GRAY DAVIS HAS INNOCENT BLOOD ON HIS HANDS. Thanks to him, abortion in California is killing a record number of children AND is more dangerous than ever to women.Gray Davis is pandering to the pro-abortion and gay-rights lobbies like perhaps no other politician before! And he is making sure they get a sizeable portion of every one of your tax dollars! In fact, he is so repulsive that even Catholic Bishop William Weigand has publicly rebuked him!
And here's why! Just last September -- to court pro-abortion money and votes for his campaign -- Davis signed into law Senate Bill 1301, which REMOVED the requirement that only doctors can perform abortions. This bill . . .
makes abortion more dangerous to still more women, and
allows abortions right up to the point of normal birth! Nine month old, full-term babies can now be killed in the Golden State!
And THAT SAME DAY LAST SEPTEMBER Gov. Davis also signed Assembly bill 2194 mandating that ALL obstetricians and gynecologists be trained to perform abortions -- with NO objections allowed for moral or religious grounds! So much for our inalienable rights of conscience!
Just think -- while many California liberals protested the possibility of ONE life being lost in Iraq, these same people -- Gray Davis' core constituency -- INSIST that doctors be trained to murder innocent children!
That's because abortion mills have proven to be a cash cow for Gray Davis and his ilk. He WANTS babies to die so the money keeps rolling in -- even if it means forcing doctors to be trained to kill!!!
But there is a NEW form of bloodshed just legalized by Gov. Davis. . .You see, last September 22 and 23, Davis endorsed and signed TWO bills that legalize the creation of babies for research purposes.

and then tell me that the Democrat Party is something other than an evil band of muderous butchering barbarians.
I don't write to him a bit... I'm just expressing an opinion.
I have nothing against cutting government spending. In fact, I'd love nothing better than to starve the beast. And that's another thing I like about Bush. At least he seems to be willing to do something about the Income Tax and even the Social Security Tax. If we could keep that sentiment moving, who knows where it might lead. Can't spend it if you don't have it. Well, not for long at least.
I'll take this in reverse.
As you may or may not know, during the Clinton Years the US Treasury discontinued the 30-Year Bond, refinancing the Debt on the 10-year Schedule to take advantage of lower interest rates. This is one of the reasons why Clinton was able to generate Budget Surpluses -- by committing the Nation to a shorter-term Debt, Clinton secured lower interest rates, and lower costs. Sorta like taking out an Adjustable-Rate Mortgage to get lower interest rates, and lower costs. But of course, if you take out an adjustable-rate mortgage, you're gonna get WHACKED if interest rates move up. And this is exactly what Clinton did to the Country, in order to secure lower interest rates, and generate Budget Surpluses.
But interest rates have moved lower still, what with the Economy being in a funk for the past three years. In the words of a Bond Trader friend of mine (who is not particularly Republican) -- "I wish my Government would issue some 30-year Bonds down here... it would help us all."
Bush has a window of opportunity here. Right now, the remaining 30-year Bonds on the Market command 4.82%. I suppose, as a Libertarian, I should be against Long-Term Government Debt (heck, I'm against ALL Government Debt), but if the Government were to Re-finance the Debt at 30-year Rates right now... sorta like re-financing your mortgage...
In the words of a Bond Trader friend of mine (who is not particularly Republican) -- "I wish my Government would issue some 30-year Bonds down here... it would help us all." We would save $21 Billion per year on interest costs, not to mention the benefit of locking in the Debt at 4.82% for 30 Years (if you could lock in your Mortgage at 4.82% for 30 years, would you do it? I bet you would).
Trouble is... Government inertia. This Boat turns slower than a Battleship, "What's done is done" -- Clinton locked us into 10-year financing, which is gonna KILL us if interest rates move up. But Bush should move now, if he can. Re-issue the 30-year Bond, and lock it in. Just like a Mortgage. (The only disadvantage is, if Bush saves us any money, he seems predisposed to Spend it. Which brings me to my second point...).
least he seems to be willing to do something about the Income Tax and even the Social Security Tax. If we could keep that sentiment moving, who knows where it might lead.
"But he's got high hopes... he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie in the sky hopes"
(Source: High Hopes - words by Sammy Cahn, music by James Van Heusen copywrite - Hal Spaher Ltd. London 1959)
I had high apple-pie in the sky hopes too. I mighta been a Capitalist Forbes man, but I had some hopes for a Texas Governor who seemed to believe in State's Rights and Gun Rights, at least during the Campaign.
Much of that seems to have gone by the wayside.
The only promising sign remaining is the fact that the Bush Treasury department has consistently floated "trial balloons" for a National Sales Tax for three years now.
Now I will give them credit -- when it comes to the National Sales Tax, the Bush Treasury department continues to float "trial balloons". They haven't DONE a darn thing, but at least they are testing the waters (one pinky-toe at a time).
In that respect, I say -- more power to them.
It ain't a panacea. As long as the Feds collect 35% of the National Income -- churches, charities, and Parent's children will continue to be UNDERFUNDED relative to the National Income. It doesn't matter WHAT Tax System exacts the Tribute. But at least, if Bush succeeds in passing a National Sales Tax, the IRS will be removed from its current role of Regularly Yearly Invasion of a citizen's life.
However, not to sound Cynical -- "Show me, don't Tell me". I'm all for it... if it comes to pass.
Errr...
Oh, you would have to bring that up! Just as a reminder, Bush/Ashcroft have shown no interest - none - in that or any other government corruption. It is a great failing, IMO.
Just a reminder this very day on the thread "Accused double-agent met 2,100 times with Chinese officials(Chinese influence on U.S. elections )" in which we are reminded that Ashcroft disbanded the campaign finance task force. He sent Robert Conrad, the head of the task force who had told Reno to appoint an IC to investigate Gore, away by arranging an appointment as a US Attorney.

I agree, it is something that is morally unacceptable in this administration.
Yet, we are at a point where we cannot do anything about it, for if we split the vote to vote for the 'better man', there are too many people who, like us, fear the result of a possibly united Democrat turnout on polling day.
I think abut it sometimes, we screamed about the rule of law in the last years of X42, only to abandone it because we have no choice? It is a shame, and it is a red mark on this Prez.
I am grateful he was pres on 9/11 and for what he has done in the war time, but I also want to see what he does to increase our military readiness and what he does to try to stimulate the economy. I live in Connecticut. I have had 3 jobs this year alone and have been unemployed for the last 7 weeks.
I am in serious need of economic stimulus around here. And with a torn rotator cuff, I cannot just jump into a manual labor job until surgery happens and healing is over, only I have no insurance and the accident happened at my apartment, I have to go through a lawyer!
I am praying for another drafting job of some sort in the mean time, that takes no strength to move a mouse! :)
