Well, well, well. And yet another anti-Freeper site springs up:

http://www.freerepublicsucks.s5.com/crackdownmay2003.htm

We must be doing something right to have so many Bush haters hating us so much.

Well, we wish you luck. You'll have plenty of competition from FR haters.

What about those FREEPERs who prefer anyone, including, but not solely Dems,to President Bush ? They seem to yearn for a rerun of '92.

Have you ever considered that hecklers at a debate may have a valid reason for their protest?

I have. I liken it to spreading the gospel in a way. The leftists hate it when christians try to convert them, they say we want to rob them of their minds and such, etc. Yet they go to great lengths to try to convert others to their way of thinking.

If you delete their posts for example, they cry about debate and dissent, but if you try to get them to convert to a faith (anyone will do for discussion) they get all bent and tell you that it is their personal choice, that you are stupid and brainless, etc and so on.

Yet the whole time these 'hecklers' are trying to convert you to their brand of belief. So if I go onto a buddhist discussion site and start trying to convert them or pointing out things I see as wrong in the buddhist faith, chances are people will get upset, disrupted, and the post will be deleted.

Now contrast that to if I ask a question I am not clear on or question some of the ideals without trying to convert them to my way of thinking (ie simply trying to get they themselves to be introspective) - that is much different then trying to push my agenda and beliefs through on their own board.

I discuss a broad range of things here. I don't trust the government whether it is Bush or anyone else, it is simply too large an entity for any one person to control - like a beast it grows even after the head is cut off (ie when the president or congress changes).

If you're not a conservative, then there are libertarian boards, democrat boards, etc where you can discuss things with like minded individuals and try to spend time focusing on issues you all agree are worth examining in a light the color of your choosing (btw by 'you' I am being general, not meaning this directly at you, just a quirk of my writing style).

I like Bush, but he can do better - so I would like to limit my discussions in a general way on that topic to that versus 'he is not doing what I want, he sucks has to go' - that is what the liberals like to do.

Interesting to note too: I saw an admin, or owner, of DU mention in a thread something about the next election. Said after a dem candidate was chosen they would not tolerate bashing them, they needed to work together to defeat bush as anyone was better than he was. - I would call that good political sense, you know not all the people who support someone will like everything they do, so you take the good with the bad.

I take the good with the bad on Bush. He is only one man and can only do so much, I would rather support him and any of his failings then some candidate who has no chance.

Overall, big government is evil, will continue to grow, no one will stop it, and the end of the world is coming regardless :)

Everyone tell your bad FR stories to this guy! He is very professional and guarantees your "anonimity"!

Hating Bush, hating Bush supporters must be selling like pan cakes.

The agitprop industry has seen an upswing since Nov 2000. Too bad the consumers aren't more interested in following the money to see just what they are funding.

The anarchist-socialsts at akpress.org are a hint at the political goals of the anticapitalist protests in SF, DC and elsewhere. We tried calling the "feel good" housewives and college students "useful idiots" (appropriating Joseph Stalin's own phrase for these unwitting socialist sympathizers) and they still didn't get it.

Have you ever considered that hecklers at a debate may have a valid reason for their protest?

Organized debates have rules and even have followup questions. There is also expected to be a level of civility to the proceedings. Hearing that President Bush is a nazi, "unelected", and a war criminal are assertions that disrupt a conversation at hand to take time to disect these ridiculous assertions.

The hecklers on FR don't discuss the issues at hand. Some of them post left wing tracts or angry vanities and then their accounts self-destruct (ZOT!). Some of them come trolling to other threads and don't address the topic of the thread and refuse to answer challenges to their posts.

If you go to a comedy club and an audience member heckles the performer, should the performer (and his audience) put aside the conversation at hand to ask him just what he is unsatisfied with? Everyone has an opinion. They don't all carry the same weight. Some are not fully rationalized thoughts and don't hold up under scrutiny.

Always happy to oblige with a BTT.

It's late here too and I see that that things are heating up. Some FREEPERs are beginning to " beg " to be banned. Then they'll scurry off to one ( all ? ) of the anti-FR sites and complain. Since the herd could stand some culling, I won't be heartbroken at all. :-)

Thanks for the "heads-up", Jim, but in actuallity, I'll never even folow one of these links. It is not worth my time and trouble to find even more places to see the kind of drivel I can get at the "one-stop" nitwit meeting place: DUh - which I visit a couple times a month.

You simply keep up the good work you do in service to us all, and ignore those who are trying to discredit your service.

Well Jim, when you start getting attacks like this you know you've made it! The fact that these scurillious little halfwits actually took the time to set up a whole website just to childishly "diss" FreeRepublic shows we've got 'em mighty disturbed. A frightened, confused, angry liberal is the closest thing to a good liberal there is.

Ah, but those " new " sites are just filled to over flowing, with all of the people we grew to hate, right here and are thrilled to pieces they are no longer here. That's an even better reason, for not going over there. :-)

While we're on the subject :) Are there any plans in the future to add an option to the front page for 'all latest articles' so people can choose to see all the latest ones posted, or perhaps an option that you can see all the latest articles/posts for the groups you subscribe to?

I saw mention that the reason it was done the way it is is that too many posts were 'scrolling' by (or something of that nature) and it was limited to the news/activism section. I know that many people, myself included, would like to be able to have it either way (is it me, or has General Interest become the grave yard for articles? I could post a thread about bin laden getting captured there and not only would the mods not move it to news it would probably only get a post to it if mhking, et al, did a mass ping). :)

What a bunch of losers over there. Kind of extravagant for an opus, isn't it?

The point these malcontents always miss is that this site is greatly supported by POSTERS, not pop-up garbage. If we don't like how things are run around here, we don't have to contribute. Or go to this site, for that matter.

Thanks for the island of sanity you've created for us, Jim.

That is one sad bunch. Many of the members have been run off or banned from other anti sites or their host have shut 'em down.

You are vindicated.

IMHO, the Democrats are the domestic enemy of the Constitution. The Democrats are the formal and openly declared party of abortion, homosexualism, feminism, Godlessness, liberalism, socialism, slavery, cowardice, confiscation and redistribution of wealth, gun-control, strangling regulation, burgeoning bureaucracy, institutionalized hatred of everything good about America, religion, family, honor, tradition, history, our national, state and individual sovereignty, our very Liberty itself, and everything else I hold dear.

Some say the Republican Party shares in the blame for our loss of Liberty and sovereignty, and I've even thought that way myself at times, but at this particular moment in our history, the Democrat Party is definitely and unquestionably the party of pure evil and hatred for all things America and there's no doubt about it. There is absolutely nothing in their party platform that I can support and not one single Democrat office holder or candidate who's worth supporting.

I will continue working as hard as I can to promote replacing as many Democrats as possible until we have a supermajority in both houses of Congress that will work with our Republican president and help him move his agenda and, more importantly, help him rebuild the judiciary and our system of justice. And then we can begin overturning some of the idiotic and outrageous liberal court decisions and precedents set by the corrupt mush-headed liberal activist judges currently infesting the bench, and then begin tearing down the failed liberal/socialist utopian welfare state and restoring our constitutional republic and our Liberty. Long live Liberty!

I have no idea what your goals are, but these are mine. And we are doing this at the grass-roots. This is not the Republican Party speaking. We are acting independently of the party and, God willing, we shall prevail!
