The answer can be found in the recent past, for, in the Louisiana Republican Party, David Duke has frequently been accepted -- and, in some cases, even welcomed.
The dichotomy between the national and Louisiana Republicans over Duke became apparent almost immediately in 1989, when Duke first burst on the scene as a credible candidate for the state House. Then-Republican National Chairman Lee Atwater responded by condemning Duke for intolerance and bigotry. Atwater also said the RNC would provide no assistance to Duke. President Reagan, who had just left office, and President Bush each made the unusual move of intervening in a state legislative race by endorsing Duke's opponent.

In either case I don't recall for someone being a Democrat a good reason to "liquidate" anyone around here.
