Pagan band demands "quiet area for fornication"

Pagan band demands 'quiet area for sex'

A pagan rock band is demanding a "quiet area for fornication" during a summer solstice celebration in Birmingham.

The event, billed as a family fun day out, has been condemned by the Church of England, reports the Birmingham Evening Mail.

Headliners Inkubus Sukkubus demanded the "fornicatorium" at the event, which is being held to mark the longest day of the year.

Managers at the Custard Factory venue confirmed a quiet area would be provided for the group, fronted by female vocalist Candia.

A spokesman said: "They said they needed a quiet fornicatorium. They say it is a fertility rite. The singer goes into a trance-like state. We don't quite know what will happen once the frenzied activity begins."

Druids from across the country will descend on the Custard Factory for the celebration, which is billed as a perfect day out for the whole family, on Saturday.

Rhiannon Biddulph, of the UK Pagan Association, said: "There are certain festivals were we celebrate the creation of life where you have to have sex. Most pagans have a fairly relaxed attitude to sex."

But a spokesman for the Church of England in Birmingham said: "It seems the Druids have overdosed on the magic mushrooms when arranging this event. It beggars belief that this kind of tackiness and tawdriness is being promoted as a cultural family event."

You also had to be a Levite to be a priest, yet Christ says that we are all Priest and Kings, including himself. I am not a Levite....yet I am a priest.....

Bait someone else.

Can't? Or won't? Some of the more heretical texts that the Council of Nicea refused to cannonize suggest that it was the self-same Mary Magdalene the Whore who was not only forgiven by Christ... but actually became his bride as well. These Books are referred to throughout the Bible, but have since been excised by successive generations of Church leaders.

Bait? You are the one who came tromping in here critiquing others knowledge of Biblical lore. If you can't stand up to this one tiny challenge, then maybe you should look to the log in your own eye, eh?

Yes, Abram was a sinner. That's part of the wonder of this story. God can take fallen sinners like Abram--and me--and use us in His plan. Isn't that incredibly wonderful? If you read further in this story, you will also see that God took care of both Hagar and her baby.

That's the reason they weren't cannonized. They were untrue.

I can understand that. It looks that way to us today, doesn't it? Fortunately, it was culturally permissible then, so I doubt Hagar looked at it that way. At least I hope so!

I am a religious moron?

What in your quote contradicts what I have stated?

You are a weak minded man looking to justify yourself in some distortion of scripture.

G_d promised Abram a son with Sarai, they both waned in their faith and took matters into their own hands. G_d choose not the son of fornication but the son of His intentions. The one of holy conception.

Liar. Levites are only mentioned three times in the NT. Luke, John, and Acts. Most of the references to Levites are OT and center more around Aaron and the properties afforded to the Levites in every city of Isreal.

Think about it.

Inkubus Sukkubus is a good band. You can listen to their music here (if you're registered at MP3.com)

What is so strange/controversial about Pagans having sex?

That's the reason they weren't cannonized. They were untrue.

Why? Because some priestly muckity-muck didn't like what they said about someone who'd lived and died 200 years before they got together to agree about what to say about him?

Who were they to say that the words of God's prophets were "untrue". For that matter, who are you?

Your are baiting.

I said: "Jesus told Mary Magdalene to go a sin no more, so that she might be truly saved."

Even you admit "who was not only forgiven by Christ".

My point being that Christ saw her actions as a sin.

Instead of arguing or agreeing with that point you ask whether Jesus was married. That is baiting.

There's just no way for us to know. But I have read that according to the laws and customs of the time and area that barren women could do what Sarai did. Sounds barbaric to me, too, but I think that having children was so critical to the people then that it took all precedence over individual or private feelings about anything. That's a fairly recent concept.

"They said they needed a quiet fornicatorium"

How very British. Even a pagan "fornicatorium" has to be quiet and dignified.

They were a council of men who gathered together to put together a cannon for the furtherance of God's true word. In the scheme of things, I'm really a nobody, but I believe that the Bible is God's inerrent word and that He has watched over its transmission through the ages. Therefore, I believe that the Council of Nicea had providential blessings and care over it.
