That makes a great deal of sense to me. The "lure for the possibility of gain" approach has been used successfully for thousands of years. The "Bush lied" drivel was one of the reasons that Kerry lost the election. He tried to make the same argument. Whenever someone pressed him on it, he had to take another position, and ultimately, people didn't buy it. I still think the coalition either has the WMDs or knows where they are.

This is one of the best essays I've seen on the whole Iraq issue. Absolutely amazing. I've blogged a few times here, but never to this kind of effect. You're definitely getting a link on my blog. You need to do more blogging, too--you could really go somewhere with this.

Well, thanks for the kind words, and for the bump.
Perhaps I overanalyze and over strategize. But it still seems to be the only explanation that would adhere to the data we have to date.

Thanks Randal for your Military Service as well as your insight...this is right in line with my own ideas about the truth of WMD...don't forget the Russian influence here!
They still have visions of grandeur well beyond Iraq, and we all know they just didn't make the best decisions anyway!
So we had a Tenet slam dunk the WMD was in Iraq...
Then evidence just prior to the start of the Iraq war the Russians moved massive assets out of Iraq etc. To me Bush decided to keep a lid on things until we could settle the union and democracy of the new government of Iraq, and in fact, then be ready to be very credible to launch a new offensive in any direction from Iraq to rid the world of the next Axis state of Evil...Syria just may be next, Iran's next revolution could be coordinated with the Syria invasion, with Israel in reserve for either Syria or Iran...
So now we know, I support our war effort, and the war on terror...no way I want my Grandchildren to fear this evil in the ME...

I've read and seen media bias for years and not recognized it until Columbine happened -20 miles from my home.Same thing happened to me--I was overseas and witnessed an incident that was aired on CNN. Their spin didn't even remotely resemble what actually happened.

Isn't Randal Flagg the name of the demon in Stephen King's “The Stand”?
To: allmendream
In other books as well. He gets around.
Well, at least he did until a giant friggin’ SPIDER ate him!

I thought I recognized the name.
“Im the walkin dude, I can see all the world!
Twist your minds with fear, Im the man with the power.
Among the living, follow me or die!
Man, fights man! divided they cant stand!
United, they can battle back, and make him force his hand!
Fear, yes fear! his end is growing near,
He didnt count on mans good faith,
And their will to persevere.”
Anthrax “Among the Living”; a song about Randal Flag.
That is all. Carry on. ;)
