The Anti-Bush Crowd on Free Republic
May/14/04 | jveritas

Dear "True Freepers"

Are you tired of some voices on Free Republic that are very negative and are pushing a hidden anti Bush agenda? I am very much disgusted with them. I understand that we need to have our diferences on issues but some of the people on this great site are becoming worse than Democratic underground people. As true conservatives we can critcize the President on some issues but attacking him constantly in this crucial election year is simply unacceptable. Reading people like this who are constantly and savagely attacking the President and everyone of his policies should not be accetpable for the majority of us. They can post their hatred to the President in many other site that will welcome them in open arms.

I would like to ask you "true freepers" to "report abuse" to the moderator about those people who have been constantly attacking the President. I have started doing this myself in the last few weeks.

Thanks, bro. A very nice comment there.

By the way, I'm taking my family to Key Largo in June for fishing and snorkeling-- any advice on restaurants, dive spots, stuff like that? You're more familiar with the southern end than me.

Thanx fer putting me in that category.

But, I'm actually out for information and truth....I can always do without the debate 8)

Discussion is good

Debate is OK

Arguing is a waste of time ;-)

Wouldn't it have been better to say something like you disagree with reporting abuse just because someone doesn't agree with you?

Probably, but it would also be better if people didn't post threads demanding that everyone who disagrees with them get thrown off of FR.

I ignore these folks. They are unrealistic.

Our clear choice is:

1. Bush

2. Kerry

I choose Bush.

Third parties are a joke.

Why don't you slow down a bit? I'm sure that if Jim Robinson thinks there's a problem here, he can handle it himself.

Welcome to FR. I'm sure you'll find the discussion here robust and informative. I've been impressed over and over with the amount of knowledge held by FReepers and the research that they'll do to move a thread along.

They usually don't last around that long
because someone usually tells them the REAL truth....and they move on

"Even though I've been frustrated by some of the comments by some Freepers, I've never liked the term disrupter."

To me, a 'disrupter' is typically a newbie who posts what I call "a turd Baby Ruth in a punchbowl" and then NEVER responds to any comments made to him or her.

"I can't tell you how much we mods appreciate your abuse reports. We wouldn't know a "true freeper" without your help."

Does being a moderator give you a license (beyond others) to be a smart butt?!?

-----
I read this somewhere and took it to heart so much that I said it to my kids all the time they were growing up: "No one is a total loss..they can always be pointed to as a bad example." They throw the phrase back in my face from time to time. To me, the disrupters fall into that category. They don't bother me so much because I figure the fun will wear off after a while and they will go away. But I also figure that while they are composing their "turds" or picking a comment to reply to with a Baby Ruth, they may read something that makes them stop and think "Hey that makes sense." As I said before, I've read many Freepers who started out on the forum has Liberals, but are now staunch Conservatives. I've also told my kids that "I'll always allow for someone to change for the better."

We should probably do a thread in which reformed Liberals can tell their story as to how their conversions came about after they started lurking on FreeRepublic. If it's been done already, someone please post a link to it. I haven't seen it. I do remember one entitled "How did you find FreeRepublic" one time but it wasn't limited to converts.

" In my opinion, this site should be only for President Bush supporters, period."

It wouldn't be much of a Conservative site then, would it? You'd have nothing but a bunch of moderates calling for "reasonable" gun-control, open borders, and more federal control of political speech 90 days prior to the election.

Actually, I think JimRob has made it clear that this is a Republican or Bush website. He wrote a whole vanity about it, if I recall.
