Okay, this is something I've been thinking about for a long time. Since the FReepers and PWs have a lot in common, I suggest the formation of an alliance. We PWs link to you guys, you link to us, we coordinate our operations, and so on. My thought is that we need to forge alliances with other conservative organizations, with those right-of-center, with the undecided. This is gonna be a long campaign against the ANSWERtroopers, against the leftists who hate America and seek to destroy everything that we love about her. First off, I suggest we start with the planned operation in New York City - "Liberty Rising." I believe there's been a thread posted about this previously. How about we start working on how to coordinate a rally together. The rest of us can get in touch with any conservative groups they have contact with, and we can go from there. Our numbers are steadily growing, but numbers are nothing without synchronicity, without connection, without a common purpose. What say we get this alliance started?
Believe it or not, The American Spectator started out on a small college campus in Indiana. I don't think they moved to D.C. until some time in the late 70s, though I could be wrong about that.
I wish The Onion accepted freelance stuff, 'cause they could sure use the help.
After the first couple of issues printed in the wake of Sept. 11th, they really fell into a slump. I don't even bother picking it up anymore, and where I live, it's free!
I stopped getting the Spectator during the Clinton years, because it made me so mad! Some things it's better not to know. And now, who needs political magazines when we've got FR and Townhall.com?
I get "Forbes" for the investment gossip ... some of that is really hysterical, especially in hindsight :-).
How about the Operation Bias Check in NYC?
Uh...wouldn't this make us a vast right-wing conspiracy or something....surely that wouldn't be fair.
They drew me back when they went back to the old format and set up a great new website in the americanprowler.org.
I still can't bring myself to buy their magazine though.
I mean, seven dollars for a magazine?(!) There are mags that have people performing unspeakable sexual acts, which don't cost seven bucks!
TAS doesn't even have Michelle Malkin in a miniskirt; so why should I waste my time or money?
I love the energy, wit and passion of Protest Warriors and am a member of our local chapter.
Alliances and coalitions are great since our numbers tend to be small when it comes to street theatre. It is always helpful to agree on strategy beforehand. For instance, infiltrating someone elses rally or protest is not my cup of tea and I would definitely want to know if that is on the agenda.
It's hard sometimes to get FReepers away from their keyboards and onto the streets and a safe, non-violent demo is important to us.
I hope you will post reports of your activities and put me on your ping list when you do.
I got to this thread late, hopefully you will return to FR again to respond.
Since the PW site overhaul, 1) Is there a way for chapter leaders to communicate? If so, it would be on the chapter leaders best interest to cross post any "calls to protest" to FR.
2) Is the sign up process vetted, i.e. are there a bunch of DU'ers signing up to infiltrate? Are all organizing activities done behind the wall, where only registered users can read geographically relevant pre-protest planning info? If so, it would be better for FR members to sign up at PW.
Virtually everything on FR is out in the open, including protest preparations. PW seems to control info quite a bit more. Hard to graft the two philosophies together. That being said, good luck and stick around, these folks around here know a thing or two. (Googling Doctor Raoul, will find you this, http://community.webshots.com/album/76640713VeEdgr )
Chapter leaders usually either communicate with each other via the messaging thing on HQ, through the forum proper, or by exchanging emails.
The sign-up process requires you to be willing to post some personal information. They thought of everything. And I'm considering lobbying for a closed forum like you describe at PW.
And as for "grafting" anything, I'm just talking a mutual partnership, working for mutual advantage in what is due to be a long campaign.
They're talking about us over at leftist central, otherwise known as Indymedia:
http://www.indybay.org/news/2004/06/1685280.php
So they look to see who is "sponsoring" PW?
Why don't the leftists look at/acknowledge the ties the sponsors of many of the "anti(Ameircan)war" rallies had to international communism?
Then you know not to p*ss off the 'Pod! ;-)
Check this guy out.. He sounds like a fu#$ing NAZI.

I got first hand confirmation that the Jewish Community Relations organization helped to facilitate and in fact joined in with the Protest Warriors from someone who met with them in a meeting before the march. On top of that we saw the two busses the Protest Warriors came in parked outside the Jewish Community Relations organization on Steuart Street. On top of that-- just take a look at many of the Protest Warriors. Some of them are definately Jewish, you can tell by the way they look. After all, they are an ethnicity. Some Jews just look like Jews. Just like some Irish people look like Irish people. Anyone who has an eye for ethnicity can tell."

"...that strategy will appeal to a certain number of FReepers, but not all."
If you discover ANY strategy that appeals to ALL FReepers, please let me know!!

One way would be for each of us to join a PW chapter and report back their plans, though that would depend on how you feel about this...
Virtually everything on FR is out in the open, including protest preparations.
As you said, not all FR protest ops are out in the open. For the Chicagoland ops I tend to use FReepmail to begin with and post later, if necessary. Anti-answer protesting without infiltration (standing on the sidewalk, etc) becomes easier to post on the public board. Anytime I thought our chapter might be infiltrating, I would suggest it be kept quiet.
I meditate to regain my mana, before casting Lvl. 8 Mighty **** of the Beyondness.
