The date of this action is 2011...the war starts in the series in 2005-2006. it takes us that long to get back in a position to take back Wake Island.

My intention is not to disparage the author's entire book.It is true I don't know what the heck it is about. The preposterous line regarding America being able to produce massive amounts of equipment to face the Chinese in a few years just caught my jaundiced eye.
I do however have a good knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing as currently practiced in the United States. This country lacks the skill, will, and capital the make such a turnaround of the gutted manufacturing sector - and the Chinese know it.
