Ridiculous. Jimmy Carter certified the election.

Loser, indeed. The more precise term, however, is ''Marxist''.

Perhaps, sooner or later, the sheeple and some renegade historians will come to understand exactly how much this incompetent BLEEP betrayed and attempted to betray this nation.

If you've the time and inclination, may I respectfully suggest you look over the release of the Venona documents.

By all rights, we should pull help the Venezuelans pull an Allende. Or is Chile better or worse off today? Hmmm?

What's carter got to do with the Venona papers?

POSSIBLE ANSWER (thanks for planting the research seed--posted for others' benefit):

Link: HERE (scroll down to "Treason Update"

Limbacher notes that in a book by Peter Schweizer, entitled “Reagan’s War: The Epic Story of His Forty-Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism”, Jimmy Carter used Armand Hammer to convey the message that some assistance by them on the Jewish immigration front could make Carter look good enough at home to help him beat Reagan in 1980. Schweizer also cites a 1984 private meeting between Carter and Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrinin, where Carter was apparently attempting to encourage the Soviets to “get involved” in the effort to keep Reagan from being re-elected in 1984.

It's not clear from the context whether this info is from Venona or is independent. If there's more, I would surely be interested in learning about it.

In Bolivar state something suspicious took place; say voting centre X has 3.000 people in the roll. Said centre has three polling booths: in number 1, 1.100 people must vote; in number 2, 1.000; and in number 3, 900 people. Tallies from booth number 1 showed 683 votes for the NO option and 103 votes for the YES option. Tallies from booth number 2 resulted in 587 votes for the NO option and 103 votes for the YES option. Tallies from booth number 3 evidenced 519 votes for the NO option and again 103 for the YES option.

Electoral officials assigned to said centre thought it was extremely unlikely to get such repetitive number of votes for the YES option.

Perhaps the Chavez' henchmen should have used random number generators to cover their tracks?

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there a particular place where you think it is best to "jump into" the documents?

I particularly like Haynes and Klehr's book, Venona: Decoding Soviet Espionage in America. There are about a dozen books on Venona, dating from 1995 when 2900-odd of the intercepts were declassified. Just type in 'Venona' for an Amazon search to get a list of titles. And, naturally, a Google search will yield some hundreds of links. The NSA has the text of (all?) the intercepts on its site, but this site is as flaky as they come -- when I checked a few minutes ago, every link yielded ''page not found''. A conspiracy, no doubt (g!).

BTW, if you are completely unfamiliar with Venona, you will absolutely not believe the extent of penetration of the US gov't in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, as indicated by these papers. McCarthy (who never saw Venona, amazingly) was completely correct, and, were it not for the assorted Soviet apologists and traitors still infesting the lamestream media, would have been completely vindicated by Venona's release.

I appreciate your taking the time to give me some ideas.

I have only barely heard that the papers showed some people were right about the Communist menace.

It's sad that it took so many years for the evidence to come out.

Not a problem, anytime.

It's rare that there is an opportunity to read the enemy's words, in the original and uncensored -- rather like having a crack at the computers in DNC's offices (g!).

The Venona decrypts don't extend to the 1980s (IIRC, it's been a while). Jimmuh's treasonous backchannel dealings w/Dobrynin have been well documented, though.

Only problem with reading about Venona (unless one is either an historian or a student of the cold war; I'm the latter, btw), is that a lot of the names of the players are nowadays unfamiliar. This unfortunate condition tends to necessitate some amount of parallel reading, which is inconvenient for many people.
