What if.........

We all know that Middle Eastern nations despise Israel.

The Middle Eastern nations know the United States supports Israel.

We all know many Middle Eastern nations back terrorist.

Middle Eastern nations know that President Bush will stand up against those countries.

WHAT IF……………. (Cue the X-Files theme)

These same Middle Eastern nations do not want another four years of President Bush? Because they are sure the President will not yield in the war on terrorism, they fear the United States.

What if, secretly, they have decided to try and manipulate the election?

What if they decided that one way to undermine the reelection of the President was to undermine the economy?

What if they decided to inflate oil prices to slow the economy?

What if high gas prices begin to erode the current recovery (it already has to an extent)?

What if Americans begin to blame the President for high gas prices?

What if Middle Eastern nations want Senator Kerry for President knowing he is soft on defense?

What if the high oil prices ($48 a barrel today) were meant for one reason only? **********************************************************************************************************

Many recent analysts believe that the barrage of reasons for high oil prices do not hold water. Some of the reasons: High demand world wide, war in Iraq, not enough refineries, less supply.

Many analysts believe that even under the current conditions there is no solid reason for oil prices to be higher than $28 a barrel!

WHAT IF……………………………….

And price gouging Americans are not at fault?

The Oil Companies will do anything to drive the price up, people be damned.

Nothing paranoid about it - it's possible.

Think it through: al-Q already demonstrated they have the ability to manipulate a national election through OVERT terror. Our newbie is simply theorizing a COVERT route.

However, high gas prices by themselves, would not cause the electorate to panic. The Sheep have endured more volatile gas hikes in the past, and they'll endure this one. But it IS, I'll agree, one notch on the burner.

Well, the first thing is: Welcome to Free Republic!

Second: We are VERY protective of our forum, and VERY suspicious of new people coming in out of the blue. Signing up today, and posting a opinion vanity thread with no link, is part of the profile of what we refer to as, a site troll.

My advice is: take some time to establish a bona fides on the site, before jumping right into vanity threads. I lurked here for well over a year before I even attempted one.

It's a slow start, but it's an endurance race. We're watching!
