From www.crushkerry.com:
At a rally today John Kerry was given a rifle as a gift. His response: "I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me."
Does he want to shoot the President? Of course not. He was trying to be funny in front of a group of supporters, and we're really not going to make that big a deal abouT it, except ask yourself this: What would happen if George Bush or any Republican made that comment? It would make its way into every Michael Moore movie or Democratic 527 group attack ad.
""I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me."
Can't even take it home with you ....
Well with Kerry that sort of thing is drowned out by the endless damning and substantive attacks on his record.
This is pretty overt. No doubt about what he was implying. A thinly veiled threat against the POTUS.
"You have to speak up they're going to run you right over and make you look like idiots," Katie Simenson, 41, told vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) in Oak Creek, Wis.
katie, they are idiots so are you for supporting them.
Oh, that democrat party.
They don't know what they are asking for.
Isn't that enough data that the Secret Service would pay Kerry a visit?
There are plenty of things yo go after Kerry on without having to attack the stupid things he says. Stick to his record and he's toast. Attack him over petty stuff like this and some people may think the other stuff is petty too.
Um, if you notice the rest of the paragraph we said that we didn't think it was that big a deal, that we knew what he meant (and what he didn't) and said we just wanted people to think what would happen if Bush or someone else said it.
Does anyone know what the yellow bands on their wrists are about?
Meh.
I think the more interesting aspect is that it seems to be an unconscious admission that he's afraid of the debates.
Maybe he can use it to shoot himself in the foot a few more times.
Support for gay marriage?
The Lance Armstrong "Race For Cure" cancer bracelets. They're darn near impossible to get anymore. It's become the newest fashion statement.
Excellent point. If Al Gore ("the expert debator") lost by consensus to Bush in the 2000 debates... imagine what Kerry could suffer. Kerry will be downplaying the importance of the debates until/unless he comes out mildly coherent.
Ummmm...I know. I wasn't talking to you. I was speaking to everyone who would come on this thread and state it was a veiled threat against the president...blah blah blah. I was giving THEM the advice not to nit pick (and replies to your post prove this happened). Next time...I will be more precise in my post so you will understand what I am trying to say.
Kerry's photo-ops with rifles are really ridiculous... pandering for the NRA vote? His comment is in line with the photo-ops: a bad joke.
It regarding a cancer project Lance Armstrong supports.
