Did We Just Hear this Right? We just think we heard John Kerry tell Wolf Blitzer that the 1,000 dead in Iraq died fighting in the "war on terror". Can anyone confirm this. If true, how can he say "wrong war, wrong place, wrong time"

Boy, this would be a screw up of monumental proportions for him.

Drudge headline says US deaths tops 1000.
May they RIP.

Oh, yes, that's what he said. Kerry is all over the place. I can't understand how anyone could support him.
To: crushkerry
I thought Kerry's standard line was that the war on terror was separate from the war on iraq. Maybe I am confused or maybe this is a new nuance.

Don't worry. He will change his statement later. Because that is something he never does (sarcasm)

Here is Kerry's exact quote from an AP story on MSNBC's web site:
Today marks a tragic milestone in the war in Iraq; more than 1,000 of Americas sons and daughters have now given their lives on behalf of their country, on behalf of freedom, the war on terror."
I thought we've been told for quite some time that Iraq has nothing to do with the War on Terror?

Kerry's extraordinary statement seems to make all of his arguments irrelevant. Begala and Lockhart sure haven't earned their keep yet.

That is what he said BUT he prefaced it by saying it originally was not but has become. Whatever that was supposed to mean.

Don't forget the 3000+ that we lost on the first day of this War on Terror.
Never Forget.

Oops! Kerry just let it out of the bag that the war in Iraq is part of the war on terror. I hope the pubbies use that soundbite in an ad. It is crucial that the demogogues not get away with separating the two.
To: crushkerry
I think this is true. But what really gets my goat is I was listening to Sean Hannity and on the ABC news break Vic Ratner stated that Kerry was surrounded by veterans when he made the statement.
Surrounded by how many 4, 12, 15?
