Powerline Blog: Pentagon Says CBS Memos Fake!
Powerline Blog ^ | Sept. 11, 2004 | FOX News

Posted on 09/11/2004 6:49:56 PM PDT by West Coast Conservative

According to Powerline Blog, this was reported on FOX News:

KELLY WRIGHT: Tony, here's the latest that we're finding out on this story. At least three Pentagon sources believe the documents about President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard are fakes. CBS as you mentioned is standing by its story...

Rita looks like sh'd be a fun date.

And think of all the gossip you could get out of her after a couple of drinks!

I like a woman with meat on her bones!

Since the chance of them being legit is probably less than 0.000001%, I doubt if anything will be exploding in Bush's face any time soon.

You seem to be under the impression that it is just as easy to prove a forgery as it is to prove something authentic. You are sorely mistaken.

FYI, there is no possible way in hell these memos are authentic, and this is a skeptic telling you this --and I was a skeptic before I was conservative.

I'ld believe that Bush and Laura snort meth off their daughters' bare backs before I'd believe this.

If CBS's source gives the go ahead to reveal where they came from or they present other evidence they are authentic, this is going to EXPLODE in Bush's face.

Deap breaths..... They are fake. Every military officer or admin type can see that immediately.

I did much earlier today, some time during the 6 o' clock hour Eastern time, but I remember being very frustrated because they didn't go into any details. The three pentagon experts were simply mentioned in passing. Then they went on to talk about the CBS obfuscations.

However, there's been no evidence presented that the ANG in Houston ever had the number 34567.

There's the Application for Reserve Assignment signed by Bush.

I've been pretty impressed with Major Garrett too. Especially after coming from CNN. He's been doing a great job with the Swiftie story.

The Selectric wouldn't work but the Executive might have been used. However, it was just about impossible to center a name and address at the top of the page with the Executive. The technique you could use on Selectrics of hitting the backspace key for every two letters did not work.

What I find compelling evidence is the lack of erasures. It's almost impossible to type a full page - especially on a variable spaced typewriter - and not make an error. People forget, in the days before computers errors and their associated erasures were commonplace. The woman who invented White-out made millions. Why no errors in these memos? Because they weren't typed on a typewriter.

I don't see this on the Fox news web site. If this is true why is it not there?

It is on Power Line, but so far nobody here is saying that they actually heard it. Power Line's source is an email, apparently the Power Line guys did not hear it live either. I hope it's true, and not a prank being played on Power Line.

I'm glad you brought that up.
That has always bugged me - he's ex-President Clinton or Mr. Clinton.

Do you ever remember anyone saying, President Reagan? I don't. It was always ex-President Reagan or Mr. Reagan.

I have video of Wendall blowing me off. It's kinda funny.

So, you've already read the Kitty Kelley book I take it.

She's not as fat as she used to be. I used to think she was hot too, until someone one here said she reminded them of "Pure Polly PureBread " from Underdog. :/ I ain't quite looked at her the same way again!

Congressional and Attorney General, Special Prosecutor investigation to find out if ...

How about we try leaving this one the the professionals, i.e. Secret Service (forgery and protection of the president) and defense investigative service (fraud theft regarding official military records).

What are you talking about? There is no there there. CBS has never divulged a source that I am aware of.

GWB is not acknowledging this story in the same manner that he ignored the Bush=Hitler ads.

Let your enemy shoot themselves.
