We are in an intense struggle here in California. 55 Big Ones are at stake. We have been getting some movement in the right direction. With that said, my piece of this struggle is with the older military vets. It is not a given that these fellows are in the lock box come November 2nd. We need to keep them leaning toward us.It does not help the cause to engage in gratuitous sound bites attacking someone such as Gen. McPeak. He has substance with those vets who flew combat missions. I know because I hang out with a couple of Korean War vets on Wednesdays having hot dogs at Parkers. They were Navy Air flying sorties off carriers. They are leaning toward Bush. But they resent attacks on men they consider to be their peers. Please don't provide bulletin board material to the oppo.
