"One of the memo files I checked had an internal Acrobat file creation date of 2/6/04. If anyones going to check for computer sales/returns, check February and look for an HP PrecisionPro Scanner sale. I still believe the whole fax claim is bogus."

They used Illustrator 6.66 to create the PDF I have which contains all four memos. Nobody uses that except computer graphics experts in my experience. Maybe thats standard at CBS, but Im suspicious of the entire process. What they say happened is not real. Thats the only thing Im sure of.
PR agencies and PR professionals use it extensively...however, Illustrator 6.66 is an OLD OLD OLD version of that software......even my cheapo schmeapo department had 7.0 YEARS ago and upgraded to 9.0 a couple of years ago. They must be up to version 11.0 or so by now....
The question remains: Who typed the memos?
Mapes and Burkett have been after this TANG story for over five years. If they had them prior to the last campaign, they would have used them!
These are NEW forgeries.
Mapes and Burkett were stuck in the mud until the coordination with the Kerry campaign started. then things started to flow.
All the networks and papers rejuvinating the TANG history, Edwards talking about it, Max Cleland, the "sugarcoat" comments from Kerry, the McAullife "AWOL" remarks, all PRIOR to (supposedly) CBS getting these memos.
This was a carefully orchestrated flow of events with the forged memos being the coup de grace.
Burkett and Mapes were the perfect patsies.
Lockhart may have given the go-ahead, but Terry McAullife and many other inside the Kerry campaign were in on this massive conspiracy.
Who typed the memos?
great find! keep digging pajama people...

Soon afterward, he said, he saw Bush's Guard performance review in a trash can. Bush served in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War era. Retired Lt. Col. Bill Burkett, who was then an adviser to the Texas adjutant general, who in that capacity serves as the commander of the state's National Guard, made the allegations. He said that in 1997 he overheard... Read | Comments |

Please keep in mind what I said above about that being SUCH AN OLD version of that Illustrator software......wouldn't TOO Hi-Tech and operation that would use such an old version.
I suspect yet another "faux hero", e.g. Max Cleland (stupid sumbitch blew himself up while screwing around with a hand grenade in 'Nam.....it wasn't combat that cost him his limbs; it was a case of pure "dumbass") is in this up to his eyeballs. This is the same, shameless p**ck that had the stones to show up at Bush's ranch and challenge him on all this.
I want to see Cleland exposed for the fraud he is a la Kerry.
You DU a**holes reading this..........prove me wrong. Get off your dead a**es for once and do what WE do: research it. Then come back to me.
Democrats: a Party of false "heroes". They disgust me.
I GOT IT! BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO IT!!! LGF'ers need to get their hands on legit *.pdf's from various sources that are suspect--Kerry's website, DNC, etc. Need to look at all of them and see which were generated with Illustrator 6.66.
I'm telling you----that's NOT THAT COMMON a version anymore!!!
LGF discussion seem to lead to the following explanation: the time stamp on the pdf was wrong on the documents that came from Fox News. The thinking is, the computer at Fox had a messed up system clock which gave the erroneous time on the copies they made of the original.
