DU is NOT that powerful. Hillary won't allow it cause it interferes with her plans for '08. The DUmmies are seizing on any and every crackpot conspiracy and threadbare, longshot legal manueverings to keep themselves from committing suicide. If this were a serious threat from the Dems, the MSM would be howling and crowing about it ad naseum.

I agree that DU is not that powerful (although some members, like the woman who spins conspiracy theories about Diebold, are able to bend the ear of the mainstream media without getting an anal exam about their political crackpot theories).

That said, what goes on at DU is quite similar to what goes on at IndyMedia, Pacifica Radio, etc. These are the KOOKS who hold up signs that say "I love NY even MORE without the WTC" at antiAmerican war protest rallies and mean it.

Their day has passed (the media was willing to entertain them to try to get Bush out of office, they are now in economic deaththrows after 2 years of lost revenue and only getting worse). Investigations have begun on cooked books at major broadcasters as well as newspapers that all inflated their figures to bilk advertisers.

The biggest "smoking gun" that the left tries to wave are the exit polls that the media was hyping (and have admitted "error" in tabulating). Zogbyism is the name for this snowjob the media tried to pull. The left shouts "McCarthyism" for exposing the antiwar movement's ties to the international communist parties. We can now shout Zogbyism for the collusion between the DNC and the MSM.
