Who's Missing From the Honored Guest List?

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: backlash; bluestate; bushvictory; gavinnewsom; gaymarriage; homosexualagenda; moralvalues; redstate; samesexmarriage; w2
There seems to be a noticable oversight in the guests on the A List for W's upcoming Inauguration.

I cannot understand why a special invitation was not tendered to San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom.

If we were to point to an individual who by himself did the most to re-elect George W Bush, we could only point to Gavin Newsom.

The San Francisco mayor, single handedly gave this election to the President. Newsom created the "Golden Issue". Think about it. In January of 2004, was homosexual marriage an issue on anyone's radar? No.

Then, bing, zoom, on Valentine's Day the mayor of SF declares it's ok in SF to marry your dog. And for nearly two months the entire country is treated each night to footage of guys with beards Frenching each other.

And suddenly, where no issue had existed, an issue was created, a base was galvanized, and quietly, without any loud demonstrations, millions and millions of Americans in the privacy of their own hearts resolved that this would not be allowed to stand.

And so, as a red state voter, I say "Thank you Gavin"...you made it a lot easier for us to show the rest of America the moral divide she was facing and the choice she had to make.

I'm confused by the gay lobby's rhetoric re marriage... Using their logic, polygamy and incest should also be recognized and sanctified by the State as valid.

All it requires is consenting adults, right? 40 yr old parent marries his/her 20 yr old daughter who also happens to be married to her 22 yr old brother... ???

You want "confusion"? Try this.

Why can't two brothers marry each other? They don't even have to have any physical attraction to one another, they just want to get the benefits of marriage and each has no prospect of ever getting married on their own.

Or, why did the Federal Gov't make polygamous marriage illegal? There are all kinds of folks in Utah who feel they have the right to multiple wives, yet no one challenges the law against polygamy...if gay marriage were to become the law of the land, how could we stand against polygamy?

And my personal favorite. The former Registrar of Voters in SF, a lesbian, was dismissed from her civil service position for incompetence. She fought a prolonged court battle to be reinstated. It turns out she was so tenacious because her "life partner", a woman, was in the midst of trans-gender surgery to become a man...in SF there is a law that says that the city will pay for the medical bills of any civil servant or their partner who is undergoing a sex change -- I swear this true, you couldn't make this stuff up.
So this lesbian was fighting to get back her civil service position to get the medical benefits so her life partner could fininsh the surgical procedures to become a man and have SF taxpayers cover the expenses.

But here's what I don't get. If she had been successful in her suit (she wasn't) her life partner would have become a man, but she was a lesbian, so would she have kept up her relationship with her -- now kinda male -- life partner? And if she did wouldn't that mean she was no longer a lesbian?

It's madness, pure madness, how do these people live inside their heads????
