We have two 1984 Mercedes-Benz 190Ds - purchased new. They are four-door sedans with a four-cylinder (non-turbo) engine. Each has been driven over 380,000 miles ... are almost "broken in" now and have been well maintained with no major problems ever.
Oh, yes, they consistently get 42-46 miles per gallon.
So, in this corner ... two "B Class" diesels would be a very good fit ...
