What kills me that no one is asking, or pointing out, why did Saddam continue to play cat and mouse with the weapon inspectors year after year if he had nothing to hide?

How many times did we hear of inspectors coming back absolutely frustrated that they weren't getting anywhere because of the games that were being played at their expense?!

Boxer, Kerry, and others like them would rather destroy this country than give President Bush any legitimacy at all in regards to Iraq. This is exactly the reason the Dems lost the election, and they just don't get it.

That's ok... Let them continue to ignore the security of this country, and the voters will continue to ignore them.

Unfortunately, I can't underestimate the power of the old media and its effect on people.

I know... I think about that too.

Getting ready for the Inauguration? Did you get your invite?

I am heading to bed. Dealing with a lousy cold, and so I am gonna turn in early.

Sweet dreams, Victoria. At least we have the right guy getting Inaugurated.

OK.

GHWB used the U.N. as the mechanism for launching the war in Iraq.

GWB was willing to do so, but they refused to stand up to their obligations.

So what does that mean? The US still had authority to act. The last resolution (1441?) only repeated the fact that member states had authority and provided a last chance for Saddam to comply.

The no-fly zones were not a well thought out strategic effort.. they were a response to Saddam annihilating resistance in the North and South after having lost the war.

We implemented them as a way to prevent wholesale slaughter of entire villages.

GHWB was a victim of his own belief in the U.N.

I think he was also victimized by the Democrats in 1990 when they refused to authorize military action until he raised taxes... the last point being conjecture... I only know that they were refusing to authorize military action, then a closed door budget meeting took place, then they authorized military action, then he raised taxes and sealed his re-election fate to Bill Clinton.

True.

I've got my invite - email from Chairman Gillespie. I was trying to figure out how to get a graphic of it. I have another invite by Ken Mehlman, too. Hehe. However, I don't know how to turn an email into a graphic so I could upload it and show it to you. Oh well. Get better soon, Jay.

From Best of the Web-

And here's another apparent Boxer falsehood:

You never even mention indirectly the 1,366 American troops that have died. . . . And 25 percent of those dead are from my home state.

According to Casualties.org, the number of California servicemen who've died is 157, which is about 11.5% of the total, less than half the proportion Boxer claimed

Sorry, Vic, but the first invite looks phony. I tried sending you an e-mail at "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" and it came back undeliverable.

Usually when I get those kind of e-mails or mailed solicitations I quickly scan the material to see how much the honor of the invitation is going to cost me.

Victoria,

I remain in awe of you!

I bow to thee, oh Great one.

Feeling a little better this morning. I've got my red, white, and blue on today. It will drive my liberal colleagues nuts. I can't wait.

Have a great day.

Jay
